    Hey all,

I was looking at a Bluetrain (only 30 made) 2006 Arnage and because it had 600 something miles, it was selling for $40,000 below its new cost. This was a brand new car with only 600 something miles, and it had depreciated so rapidly.

Why is this the case? Would it ever make sense to buy such a Bentley brand new? Is it because demand is so low for these cars? I'm sure the Contis don't experience such horrible depreciation, do they?

    Cheers!

Same reason all four door sedans do, there isn't much of a market for a used one.

Conti GTs will fall at some point, they're making a lot of them and while a cool car, it will not be collectable.

After all, you can get an early Continental R for around $60k now, still a bit of money, but it was $250k new...

its because it most likely the dealer drove it around for demos. and becasue they are clearing it out on the count that 2007's will come in any time soon. get it and you will love it! my other uncle has a blue-train bentley and paid $20,000 over sticker, but he bought it because it was rare and beautiful. didnt care for the money. get it and keep it and flaunt it!

How reliable are Arnages? The interior was overwhelmingly beautiful. I understand it's a large and heavy car, not as nimble as other cars, and so on and so forth, but is it soft? Does it handle decently? Is it comfortable on long trips? Short trips? Does it drive well around town or is it more of a long distance hauler?

I've read that they're very reliable if maintained and that they're not. Which is it? Bentley is owned by VW Group, so I don't imagine they are unreliable. They're also handbuilt and have a certain tradition. Are these reliable? More or less reliable than modern mid-level luxury sedans? I have ZERO experience with $150+K cars.

    Thanks in advance!

I know a guy who owns an arnage (green) not sure what he paid but he hasn't had any issues and he's owned it for 4-5 years thus far and plans on keeping it for some time. (probably till death and then it goes to family) he's an older guy

Great cruiser around town and on trips

Simple answer...Because they are overpriced from day one, and the market will only pony up "x" amount of dollars for a used car, with this name plate. Cool car?? yes, but is veiwed by many to be a pompus old mans car, with a British accent and crooked yellow teeth.

Most buyers that want a Bently or a Roller, have the means to buy one brand new off the lot with a warrenty attached. There are not too many brave souls that want to take on ownership of one of these cars outside of the factory warrenty period. Those that do, get a hell of alot of car for a basemnet price.

we have 53,000 miles on our 2002 bentley arnage r which we bough new. we have 3,000 miles on our 2006 arnage t that we bought new this may. we plan on keeping both. they are very reliable. if you are looking into 2003 and up, thats the very very reliable car to own. my grand father has owned 20 bentleys in his lifetime and my dad has owned 5. 2 of which are currently owned by us. its great for long trips, and fast if you get the "t". and is awsome for going around town, like going to bestbuy, costco, yes my dad parks the car in the back of the 20 acre parking lot. and its fun to tell the valet no. its not like those are the only cars we own, but we like to have fun in them on the weekend.
