I sold my F430 because I (felt like I ) got taken advantage of by my dealer (FoW) and charged for a clutch replacement that I didn't need (and some other repairs too). It changed my experience from walking into the gararge and feeling like I was in love, to feeling ripped off every time I saw it.

I sold the F430 and swore I would never own another Ferrari. I tokk a show (5 month or so) detour into the Aston Martin world, decided that was simply too much of a "grown up" car for me, and now am a *very* happy Lamborghini Murcielago owner.

So, out of the Ferrari Game, purely because of a bad dealership experience...

Despite all that everyone has said , a lot of valid points, deep down we are a society of mass consumption.... Whether its cars, houses , watches, women, men etc...we are always looking to sell or change into the next best thing... It has become our nature thanks to the big corporate marketing machine...

If anybody thinks your an @$$hole just because of your watch... are you going to value their opinion? My experience with people who have that attitude is they need to stop smoking pot or meth, get their life together and they can have one too. It's usually submariners.. and it's easy to tell if the guy wearing it has "no equity", so to speak.

I don't know about other owners, but I played around with plenty of other cars and decided to stop messing around and buy a Ferrari. For me, it was an end destination, not a first car. Plus, I don't know too many (ok any) Ferrari owners where it's their only car. I have 4 other cars, so why get rid of it for something else that isn't as fun just for the sake of something different? I'll get rid of one of the others first.

We are transient beings and addicts...eventually a lot may get bored or the passion dwindles and then it's on to the next chase/drug.
At least that's how it is with me. I usually turnover a car annually, but surprisingly I'm pretty happy with the 430 Spider and have kept it for over a year (I did not expect this - thought I would move to a Scud or 16M).
But who knows, maybe trade it for a UGR Gallardo.
I do have other drugs/cars to get my fix as well.
I think few people have true brand loyalty. We are not only transient but fickle.

    It's what satisfies...

    Or the $$$ reason.

I say it more for the people who don't have that luxury of being able to afford a bunch of cars or the space/time for them.

If you have space for 5 exotics and plenty of time to drive them, no harm in keeping a couple older cars that you just like. If however you can only have one, it's a bad idea to get too attached to it. You'd be missing out. Not even just on other brands, but maybe on other Ferraris too, newer and/or older.

You can only say your current car is better than the other stuff you've tried. If you haven't tried other stuff, well...

Some men are perfectly happy with one woman, some not so much...

    Same with cars I guess.

This is definitely my deal. Pretty typical suburban setting with a three car garage, and I feel like there's only so much time. I'm trying to marry my addiction for cars to my life by going 2+2 for the kids which also gives me an excuse to swap out cars. Not enough resources to collect and keep, not enough room, not enough time to experience all the great rides even within my limited taste much less stepping out into other great marques I see at the larger cars and coffees. So yeah, I sell, pretty regularly, and take a hit every time.

Once you have a Ferrari for a while, it becomes like any thing else. You still like it, but the novelty has worn off. You begin to notice its many short comings, and it begins to grade on you. Lack of power, not much liking that stiff ride anymore, the interior is starting to look tired, best to sell while you can still get a reasonable amount for it.
    And on eBay she goes..

    Hello All,

For me, the struggle and the accomplishment to buy the 512TR makes ownership more valuable to me. Keeping my car is part of my dream. My dream includes putting over 500k miles on it in short order. I have owned a BMW 850 for over 4 years, I had a dream to own that one also. So now I have both and they get serviced. I have been married to my wife Gail for 17 years. I like long relationships and I like making a decision and living with it.

My wife understands La Passione and appreciates all Ferraris for the automotive art that they are. My wife wants to accompany me on club drives and I am glad that she is on board with me.

For me its my overall love of cars. I wanted a 308 all my life and when it came time for me to buy one I ended up falling in love with and buying a mondial 3.2 coupe. I still want a 308 but unfortunately do not have the money or space to keep the Mondial and buy a 308 so after enjoying the mondial I decided to sell it and get a 308. So many cars not enough time/money/space!
