when they see me driving around town in the 430? this is getting annoying. i've had the 430 for about a year now and i live in a relatively small city where there are few ferraris. but seriously....i never get hassled when i drive the 355 or my mercedes or ducatis.

why do they have to tell me that they saw me driving the 430? duhhhh! i think i know i'm driving!! today, i got 1 voicemail and 1 text:

voicemail: "hey buddy, just saw you on ------ avenue. gimme a call"

txt: "slow down there dude! lol!"

i'm half joking, but can't a man enjoy driving his ferrari in peace? i get these messages almost every time i drive the 430.

    ;-)

I think a car like Ferrari is so recognizable they feel they need to say something, my friends do the same thing.. Specially I don't take it out much so they kinda look at it as a pleasant, cool coincidence. Also they might be with other friends of their and like to brag that they have a friend who own a Ferrari.. Most of my friends are really happy for me i have an f-car but be careful of the jealous acquaintances ;)

good interpretation...i guess i'm sensitive to making people jealous....i know i have some friends like that, but are they really friends if they are jealous? i know, i know....life is too short to worry about stuff like that. that's why we drive ferraris, right??!!

you're getting the attention that Ferraris generate and you're complaining?

you can't possibly think that an F430 is just another car and it doesn't scream "look at me"; you may pretend to be blase' about it all "oh it's just another one of my cars," but get real. Almost nobody will ever own a Ferrari, let alone more than one.

gimme a break, dude. Your friends are both excited to know you and a bit envious. You don't see that?

Well at least you don't get people telling you every time they see another Ferrari just because you own one. I even had someone tell me they met another owner and he knew me. I asked what his name was and the reply was " I don't know but I think it was a newer Ferrari and his license plate said something about red?" ....ok really helpful there!!

I agree with some of the above posts though, enjoy driving the cars, and if it really bothers you turn your phone off while you're out!!

LOL! I'd lent my 308 to a friend when I was away one time and every time the poor woman drove it, someone would spot her and ring me to ask if I knew where my car was! Who needs 'security' when you have a car that's well known in a couple of car club circles!

When you drive the car, turn the phone off or leave it home.

An easy change to your customizable voicemail greeting would solve everything:

Hey, this is _______, and I'm either driving or away from the phone. Please leave a message relevant to the latter or not at all. Thanks!
