Been looking for a 355 for awhile now, and noticed that none of them have Carbon backed sport seats. Why is that? Would it be easier to find a car with it from Europe?

I am from Australia, and have a 355 F1 with Racing Seats.
They are great. I think they look good, are lighter, stronger, and give you more grip for track days. I think they were a A$15,000 extra cost when I bought the car new in 1999, so that may be a bit of a hurdle for some.
I have ordered my F430 with Racing Seats as I think they are well worth it.

Is there any good place where to buy aftermarked carbon fiber seats for a F355?

i could be wrong, but sport seats may not have been an option from day one on the 355. i thought it was later in the model cycle where they started laying on the option availability.

i'm fairly sure that the spider will only take the special spider seats - not the stock seats nor the sport seats. that's 30% of production right there.

Edmo7, I have the sport seats and it was a main part of my search. If I did not find the carbon fiber sports seats I was looking for a black interior so I could go afermarket as I just find the back on the stock 355 seats to be too short and also not enough bolstering for my taste. The Milano is a good choice and a nice seat, but it is not as light, nor as bolstered as the race seats. I have GT3 seats in my porsche and I find them to be the most comfortable of all. In fact I had contemplated trying to retrofit into a 355, but never got far enough to know if they would fit. To me the seat is so integral to driving pleasure that it becomes one of the most important factors in car selection. Hope that helps, John

Can one still order the sport seats new from the factory to retrofit a 355?

I honestly think that most American buyers are too large to fit in the sport seats. Not only with Ferrari, but several other car companies exclude their narrower seats in favor of wide ones to suit the American buyers body.

"What was the price from Ferrari UK?"

It was over £3K per seat, they were on special order & delivery was about 90 days.
