Most 348 Spiders (320 BHP engine) have less grooves on the induction chambers than the 300 BHP version. Not this one though, and I've seen others too.

How come? I believe all the Spiders had the same 320 BHP engine!

    Thanks,

Is it that the USA market Spider has the 300 BHP motor?
That would make the Spider in the link a USA market car? Yet it doesn't have the USA side indicators...

    Alex,
    All 556 US spec 348 Spiders had 312 Bhp @ 7,700 rpm.

    Thanks for clearing that up.

Hard to value a USA-spec 348 in Europe and I fear many buyers will be scared off when time comes to sell.

    So I'll steer clear. :-(

One thing that is not talked about is how the power is quoted.

Is it SAE hp, or is it DIN hp?
DIN hp is normally used in Europe, while SAE hp is used in the U.S.
    320hp in DIN = 315hp in SAE

The other small difference in power comes from cars without catalytic converters, single can mufflers, different cam timing, ECU mapping, single plate clutch, higher fuel pressure, and for the F119H block engines 10.8:1 compression ratio (vs 10.4:1 D & G blocks).

So the 320hp Spider could be a Euro car that doesn't have cats.

Whatever the case, it's easy enough to more than make up for the factory differences with mild modifications.
