Why do some 355's say F355 and others don't?

F355 = 6 speed
355 F1 = F1

 

F355 = Classic Gated Manual Shifter

355F1 = Limp wristed automatic

 

many years of spanking my monkey--my wrists are very strong!!! Because of this I can flick that paddle effortlessly

 

I was waiting for you to show up 285 !!!

 

Their wrists are limp from trying to shift a gated manual shifter in .10 seconds. Then they wise up & go F1, for the win!

I can't shift as fast, but I still like the look of my gate.

 

No. 355F1 = SEMI-automatic 6 speed.

Full automatic 6 speed trannies have torque converters robbing power to the wheels...F1's do not.

If you polish the gate right you can check your hair in the reflection when you're stopped at a light.

 

Great idea Bullfighter......... and here I was carrying around an extra hand held mirror in my pocket...................................... hey...... its carbon fiber, so its 355 approved !!

Goth and 285 you guys kill me. Ferrari thought the F355F1 would be repetitive so they just dropped the leading F.

Hi guys and gals,

My take on it is this.

Buy manual if you can change gear properly and have been brought up on manuals.
Enjoy heel and toeing on the downshifts. (if you cant, either go to a driving school or buy F1)
Love the classic look and feel of the polished gate (surely one of Ferrari trade mark looks)
Want lower running costs and not "first an era" technology.

Buy F1 if you've cant change gears or have a foot amputated.
Enjoy gerky gear changing
Like paying out for mechanical bills
Are a serious trackracer.
If you have brought into Ferrari sales pitch on this type of gearbox.

So, folks, guess what I brought!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
