... or do they. I have a '14 FF with 6K miles and Novitec mufflers and valves and stock tips. Am toying with adding an F12, and got a ride in one. Both are great cars but have different dynamics. The F12 is of course quicker as you would expect, but I was struck by the difference in sound. The FF sounds more "hollow" and "throaty" to my ear. The F12 seems a bit deeper. Variations on a theme but different. Granted the Novitec on the FF and the F12 was stock, but the Novi should just make the FF louder. The question is why should they sound different? Same engine, same displacement, different intake runners to be sure and higher redline and horsepower in the F12.

My question is whether anyone else has noticed this... and what you think about it?

When the F12 was introduced, I seem to recall some hype about how the intake runner at the top was solidly affixed to the firewall to better transmit engine sound to the passenger compartment.

The FF has a great deal of sound proofing which alters the sound quality as well attenuates it. But I think the cars sound different outside as well.
