Just don't get involved in a drag race or high speed speed driving on an open road. You'll need a harpoon to keep up. It's a very nice color and yes Meraks are beautiful.
Nice! David Grant did a lot of the suspension work, so it should ride pretty nice. I think it would look better with the side air vent grills painted silver, they came in silver or black, but a lot of cars had them painted black back in the 70-80's.

In this point we agree - but Grifo line is just repeating what we have seen all 1069s long while the Ghibli was Avantgarde! There is simply no reason why American muscle in Italian cloths should be more appreciated than the real thing. I think I mentioned it once or twice: the Ghibli simply outsold ist rivals in ist time. Because it was the better car to DRIVE - and not just to show-off. Market will tell and does already!

You have a long way to go to catch up. Keep in mind that Iso was a unknown name back in the 60's and the Maserati brand was one of the most well known auto companies in the world, they should sell more cars. Today the bulk of Grifo's are restored to a much higher level than Ghibli's and the owners put at least twice as many miles on them as Ghibli's. I would guess that as each year goes by Ghibli's are driven fewer miles and fewer cars are on the road due to maintenance problems. This is not the case with Grifo's. In addition there have been many missing Grifo's found and put back onto the street. A good example is the car that Symbolic found in Stockton CA. It was parked for over 30 years in a garage, the fluids were changed a new battery installed and the car was driven around the Monterey peninsula by Bill Noon. This would not be possible with a Maserati. The Grifo has proven it can last the test of time I am not so sure about the Ghibli.
Come on ... you can say the very same thing about any neglected Ferrari or Lamborghini. You can't let them sit and then just start them back up so easily either. All of those aluminum engine bits do tend to rot with coolant just left to sit. I can't see how the brakes would be very different though?

That's true but reliability is one of the strengths of the Grifo, It may not make that exotic sound, but it runs and runs and runs. Most of our club members are former F,M&L owners.
Oh I don't know that the sound of a Maserati V8 is that much more alluring than an equally carbureted and exhaust tuned American V8? Is the American V8 easier to fuss with? Undoubtedly. But the Maserati V8 isn't so terribly finicky either once set up. I've gotten used to it, the later V6 turbo engines and then the V12 Lamborghini which is 50% more work just by sheer number of cylinders. My 99 K2500 Suburban 7.4L is much more difficult to work on. So that's the one I sent to the shop. One man's perspective.
All the Webers the fact that the timing is taken underneath the car, the internal rear oil seal made of leather or some animal hide, the cooling system. adjusting the valves is no easy task either. it's way more work IMO
At the Bonhams Qual Auction this summer there is a Ghibli Spyder and a Daytona Spyder for auction. The Daytona is a 3400 mile car so clearly a very unique car, but it will be interesting to see the price difference. link Bonhams : Quail Lodge Auction
