A few months back for my birthday, my wife bought me a nice cav coffee mug. Took less than a month for the paint to start to peel, now the thing looks like hell.

Of course I know Ferrari did not manufacture the thing, but one would think they would be interested in keeping their "good name" away from such garbage merchandise. Clearly the guy in charge of QA at FNA was out sick that day.

As I'm sitting here having my coffee and catching up on fchat, its just burning me up again that I have a piece of paint in my mouth.

Thanks for allowing me to vent.

Putting their logo on poorly made crap is not good for their brand.
    Truly Bizarre.

Just wondering, are you sure that's real F merchandise and not knock offs?

Aaah...you must have gotten the 'museum edition'. This one is for owners afraid of getting their car wet. Next time op for the 'drivers' edition, it really is that much better.

I have an official Ferrari mug that specifies non-dishwasher safe, so you may be right.

Still, I have two Mercedes mugs that are 10 years old and I run them through the dishwasher at least once of twice a week. And they look new.

I guess these are made for the US market as they, like most of the cars, to be used seldom..;);)

Next time buy the "European" version as they are much more daily user friendly.

In hindsight I'd say you are correct but care to tell me where this little gem might be printed?
Nowhere on mine, I can assure you.

Perhaps it is it next to the "made in China" sticker?

Or the Engineered by Michael Schumacher label? I believe he actually applies the labels to these mugs.

I have the same mug. When I bought it, there was a little slip of paper in the mug with some instructions, etc. and it was marked there as not dishwasher safe.

I had it for about 6 months or so, and it began falling apart, looking crappy, so I got rid of it.

My wife bought the ceramic Ferrari mug from our local dealership as a bday present for me. She was shocked by the price.

I was shocked when every time I would use it "black stuff" would come off on my hands. When I looked closely, it was the cavallino bleeding black ink!

I have mugs for 20 years that still look new and I know I dind't spend more than $5 for them. Truly shameless to be selling such inferior crap under this name.

Wherever you got these from, can't you take it back and complain since they are only a few months old? Or will you get the "You didn't read the fine print about not....."

I had wondered that myself, but she doesn't have the receipt and doesn't specifically remember where she got it... somewhere off the web.
Not a big deal financially speaking, but just a fair bit of disappointment considering it is an "officially licensed product".

On the flip side, I have my espresso every day on a set of Ferrari cups & saucers that were manufactured by Wedgewood. They have held up beautifully over daily use. (wash by hand, of course)

A lot of the Ferrari labeled stuff is junk.

Out of curiosity, did those mugs have the hologram seal of authenticity from Ferrari? Maybe they weren't licensed quality or something? (grasping, I know....)

Yeah, the box it came in had the "seal". Typical ferrari-licensed packaging, etc.

Based on the feel of the product, its certainly a "made in China"-affair. Sad.

You're not supposed to wash them. You have the mugs detailed. Using them for actual liquid was the other flaw.
Now mug brokers will hammer you on it, then send it to Thermos Classiche for rebuild.
I see you didn't buy the 55 oz supermug limited edition with Schedoni tea cozy. Don't cheap out next time.
Powdercoating should fix that right up until handle gets sticky. Robbie is working on a fix for that.

Don't you know? You're only supposed to wipe it with a diaper and leave it in your garage for years while you tell everyone you own a Ferrari coffee mug.

You're not supposed to actually USE it. That was the mistake.
