I find it strange that he always wears a plain shirt. I wonder if there is a reason.
maybe hes not sponsored enough to wear anything with logos. or hes sponsored by companies that are not associated with amg. other than that 2$ cheap red hat he is always wearing
Best answer and a good reason. I don't think he's worried about keeping his job. Wonder if he'd consider a move to Ferrari...and who he'd take with him?
He has an investment in the team as far as I’m aware, so it’s not as simple as just leaving, and ferrari aren’t open for direct investment Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I get that impression often. On the matter, I think Niki is his own brand with personal sponsorship deals etc. In that context he surely has a contract permitting him his own appearance.
He's sure got a bit of a paunch these days, team shirts (like eveything else) seem designed for slim millennials.
I've never once paid attention to or read that hat until you mentioned it. "Lauda is also convinced by the sponsorship agreement and has been wearing the red base cap with the large Novomatic brand since the beginning of 2014. This ensures a great media presence and is happy that everyone is satisfied with it." http://www.jackpotbetonline.com/niki-lauda-also-belongs-to-novomatic/
Same here. I believe Parmalat owes Novomatic a stipend, I assumed it was a relic from his Brabham years. Thanks WPOZZZ!
Technically, he's a "non-executive chairman" of the team... I guess between the "non" and his part ownership, he can dress as he pleases. http://media.daimler.com/marsMediaSite/en/instance/ko/Toto-Wolff-and-Niki-Lauda-renew-contracts-with-Mercedes-to-end-2020.xhtml?oid=15646277
