Why doesn't the Coupe sound as good as the QP?

    I've spent the evening on youtube and can't figure out why the QP sounds so much better than the Coupe/Spider. Aren't they supposed to share the same engine? The QP has that extra growl/resonance that makes it really outstanding ...

    Whereas the coupe is IMO nowhere near as distinctive... "normal" shall we say, even with Tubis

    Have to admit the Larini exhaust, while being very different from the QP is definitely unique ... and acceptable. :D

    Is it just a matter of exhausts, or am I missing something? Am I at least making any sense or am I the only one hearing a major difference between QP and Coupe/Spyder?

    I have a tubi on my coupe and it doesnt sound like the coupe on the video you posted.

    It is hard to distinguish the various sounds online. I tried before getting my tubi and it didnt really help in determining how much louder it would be.

    When I hear the coupe and quatto with the standard exhaust they are pretty quiet.
    I just heard a quatto accelerating pretty hard yesterday evening and it was not loud.
    Nowhere near as loud as the video's you posted, so I am sure that those quatto's had aftermarket
    exhaust enhancements. The coupe video is outside on a road and the mic is probably further away from the pipe. It makes a difference.

    I have a recorder and did some exhaust recordings. The sound is similar to the quattos you posted when I place the mic within a few feet of the pipe.

    Also, I think the aftermarket tubi is louder than the tubi/standard equip on the grandsport models both at idle and during hard acceleration.
