Why no profile? I don't own a Ferrari. I obviously want one, and may eventually get one, but until then I have little to contribute. In fact, I was content to lurk on this site until the new software. I had to make an account to see the great pics you guys usually have. Look at this, I'm up to like 7 posts now! Time to shut my mouth. ;)

Lots of Fchat members dont have ferrari's. That dosent mean you cant contribute. Knowbody said you have to have a ferrari in your profile, you can still post a pic of what you have. Your profile says you have a '70 dodge..thats kindof a unique thing to have, why not have that in your profile?

You could always do what i did and put a picture of a car you dont own in your profile. Its pretty obvious though since its not in my "other cars owned" line.

Most profiles had pictures on the old site and few profiles have pictures on the new site. I think the problem is that it isn't that obvious how to post a profile pic. I tried to find it in the 'profile' section and it wasn't there. I ended up searching the archives to figure out that it is done from the 'avatar' menu, and it wasn't easy to find this. Rob should probably post a sticky item in general discussion area to show how to post the picture and maybe add that info to the FAQ.

Anything a user wants to do for customizing their account is found under "User CP", although many don't know that yet.

    Carreaper,

We've got that family security covered man.

Let's see, Remington 870 Wingmaster under the mattress (kinda lumpy)
with 18" barrel and 5 shells in the magazine. 5 more on the stock via velcro thingie. Smith and Wesson .357 with speed loaders in each (of three) vehicle glove boxes.

A couple of Crossman pellet guns hanging in the kids room, with the cowboy hats.

And my girlfriend swings a mean 24" Rigid aluminum pipe wrench.

We've got a baseball bat in with the sporting goods. Left over from T ball days.

    Greeting from Texas!

Now all of ya'll go fill out your profile!!!!!!Ya' hear???

Have no idea. I haven't heard anyone else having that problem. There's no "quote" button for anyone, but there is a reply button.

LMAO!!!!! i had good intentions i promise, and i have a curio & relic federal firearms license since ga allows machine guns and silencers AFTER you go through all the usual crap.
MONDAIL85 i did not mean to infer that your car or any of the 3x8's are lesser cars or that your are not as important as a person. i only meant that someone with say a 250gto or a really high $$$ car may prefer to be more unknown. not everyone is is kind and sharing as MR G. with the gt40 ect. i like the mondail very much, but most of the owners cars here cost way more than my house!!!! i could swing a 328 or a beat up testarossa, but i only want to spend x% of what i am worth on a car. i have bigger fish to fry ( airplane!)

User CP I knew about and have used several times, but finding the profile picture wasn't obvious (to me). I expected it to find it under the 'profile' button in User CP. After profile, I clicked on all of the buttons -- signature, options, etc. I even clicked on Avatar but didn't see it, probably because I because I have the attention span of a gnat when it comes to this type of thing. Searching the archives for the answer wasn't easy either because a "profile pic" seach comes back with many matches that are unrelated to setting up the profile. I think most people used your conversion utility to move from the old site to the new site (which automatically set up an empty profile) and never went back to fill it out. This was my situation -- I didn't even try to update until a few days ago, but when I did try I didn't find it at all obvious. I think if you post a "how to" message it will both remind people to fill them out and also make the task easier for the small percentage of people like me that found the process less than obvious.

Ohh, yes, I agree 100%. That's one of the first recomendations I made to the vB development staff and dozens of other admins backed me up to. Eventually they may move it, right now they're just trying to get the new version of the software stable.
