I bought my NSX after having had a 308qv for 3 years. I think an NSX is probably the worst car for a Ferrari -- especially a 308 -- owner to buy. It shamelessly outperforms the 308 in every way while being more far more comfortable and much cheaper to own. It also has immensely better aftermarket support if I decide to go that route.

It is in every rational way, an unquestionalby better car.

The day may come when I have to choose between the two. I dread that day, because I will really miss my NSX.

    If it's just a TR I wouldn't, if it's a 512TR then it's a matter of personal choice.
They have identical performace, but the NSX handles better.
I have a NSX and thought about getting a 512TR in addition to or maybe selling the NSX and getting the 512TR, but went against it because of all the problems the TR's and 512TR's have along with exorbinating outragious costs that go along with something this unreliable. The 512TR is VERY nice and great looking, but with no performance gains over the NSX and all the problems and lackluster interior was what steered me toward the NSX.

And some of you guys surprise me with just dismissing a car that in all accounts Ferrari got alot of their technolgy from. Remember when in sept 1990 how if complety destroyed Ferrari's TR and 348 in every non preverentional aspect, and still the 355 wasn't any more technolgy superior, the 360 however is. But with nearly, I believe 400 patents, it was a total innovation of truly using their F1 technology. From use of alluminum to throttle by wire and variable valve timing it's no sloutch. If there was a princing horse on the hood it would be considered one of the greatest Ferraris ever. I can't see why someone whould dismiss this car for a 308,328,348, and even a 355 because they are Ferraris and the NSX isn't, UNLESS you just personally unjoy those cars more. It sounds like some of you only own a Ferrari cause it's a Ferrari :(, nothing more

But with that said, I plan on maybe getting a Challenge Stardale within a year or two, so I'm not just acting like some jelious ricer, M3 driver, Vette driver ect trying to say that my car is just as good or better than yours but cheaper and on and on and on. I love Ferraris' but sometimes it looks that some of your guys love is blind when it shouldn't be, Ferrari needs a foot up there a$$ every once and awhile, just like everyone else.

The ferrari excudes the irrationality that makes it fun! Although I dig my 465 hp Z06...I totally understand the logic to get the ferrari. My neighbor has a ferrari and he's enjoying it year round...

Snows on the side of the road..and it doesn't matter....he's got that car out driving just for the sheer enjoyment of it...

Not as fast or great handling as many other newer roadcars but his driving experience transcends logic etc...

Good luck in getting the car of your dreams because when its all said and done....Thats all that matters...

What YOU want...and not even your wife or any other person opinion on this earth matters...

Lifes a journey and you only go around once...

You say that as if it were a bad thing. :)

I bought a Ferrari because I'm a big fan of F1 and an even bigger fan of the Scuderia. I think many of us here are Tifosi, so I don't have to explain why I'm such a rabid fan of the team. Apparently, you can't understand why someone would own a Ferrari just because it's a Ferrari, so I'll explain why that's true for me.

Let's say a Detriot Piston fan could buy officially licensed Detroit Pistons for his car. That would be kind of a neat thing, but really, what does a basketball team have to do with car engines? The same would be true of Pittsburgh Steel. Sports fans can always get officially licensed merchandise, but it rarely has anything to do with what their team does, and apart from the logo or color, has nothing to do with the team itself.

The 308 in my garage is not officially licensed Ferrari merchandise. It is a Ferrari. It's every bit a Ferrari as the one Michael Schumacher drives, it was designed and built by an organization that's very close to the team I root for, and unlike Pittsburgh Steel or Detroit Pistons, it has something to do with what my team actually does.

I cheer on Ferraris every time I watch a race, and I have one of their cars in my garage. Honestly, I don't think fans of any team in any sport have it as good as Tifosi who own Ferraris.

In an odd, probably twisted way, I can justify keeping a Ferrari that's sports memorabilia more than I can justify keeping an NSX that has more performance than I'll ever need on the street.

If you are used to having and needing 450 hp you will need a 512TR or M to be satisfied and even then it wont be as fast as a 450hp NSX because of weight differential. If you want it just for show and looks , get an additional 84 or 85 Testarossa; the uninformed dont know the differance and you may be able to keep the NSX as well.

Ha....I sold my NSX for the 512TR... :)

But, hey...NSX is very nice. It's very practical and with the know how, you can drive it rather quickly. By the way, 512TR's performance isn't better than the NSX except one thing...top speed.

TR vs NSX is a bit too different to really make a call. If one car has to go, I would get a new wife.... :)
