I just changed from Silver to Rossa subscribed as a way to express my appreciation for this site and everyone involved. I know that when fees were introduced a short time ago it took some getting used to for some. I subscribed initially as a Silver member since it seemed the 'fair' thing to do. After seeing how much the site has helped me, $15 can no longer be seen as fair. About two weeks ago I was trying to take out my rear parcel shelf from my 328, but I couldn't figure out how. I posted a question on this site that night, and by the next morning there was a fantastic post by another member with pictures, pieces labeled on the pictures, and step-by-step instructions. And that's not the first time I've seen this level of generosity. I felt I just had to do something. Where else would I get that help? So I just wanted to say what many here express time and time again, and that is "Thanks for your help!". There's a great atmosphere here and tons of knowledge that works mutually I'm sure. It feels funny to contribute to the site when I'd practically want to give it to the respondent. I was on another non-car related web site some time ago which had a feature that may be considered here. On that site, Stars were awarded to those who contributed in meaningful ways. These stars were awarded and taken away by other members, based on averages. Some people had 2 stars, the most was 5. If the moderator would like to know which site that is just ask. I would suggest that on top of that feature those with high star counts be given free membership, they are that valuable. They are the resource on which this site thrives. This is just my suggestion, you may take it or leave it, but I just had to get this off my chest. Thanks again for all involved and all your help. With my new status I understand I get a signature or something. I think my slogan will first be "I'm Rossa because I appreciate your help!". Best! Wes
Some long time valuable contributors and supporters of this site have been granted Honorary Memberships...... Some long time valuable contributors and supporters of this site....have not.
I know what you mean Wes, I've saved £££s thanks to the people on this site, so didn't begrudge subscribing. Although I'm only Silver subscribed! But then again the thanks go not only to the site hosters/managers but also to the posters who answered my questions - I owe them all an E-beer. I would also like to thank the moderators for giving up their time to ensure the content is of merchantable quality! Dan
I am new to the forum but Rob and company should have taken a note of those who have thousonds of post and should have come up with a system to include someone like Speedy308 into the honorary circle, you guys are practically neighbours wouldn't that count for something?
Nice post Wes. I too have got a lot of help here that I couldn't find anywhere else. It always maks my day when someone makes a post just to help you out.
Thanks 4i2fly! *bowing* I'm afraid I'm trapped in the Internet ether, the modern day equivalent to "The Man Without a Country". Seen as trustworthy confidant by some, a two faced turncoat by others. *sigh* All I really wanted was a fresh set of plugs, a tank of fuel and a road map...with lovely Lady Valeria at my side. The sad part was the unfortunate timing of the membership criteria, preventing me from posting the wonderful travel log photos of my journey to your lovely state and the Mario Party, as well as the many adventures we encountered on the four day journey back home. You stop in, if you ever have occaision to travel my way....
Jerry, you know the Mecom Blue F50 sadly was repainted red to sell it, last year! I thought you'd want to know. FoH can always repaint it again for YOU, I suppose.......
From what I have seen those with honorary subscriptions are usually a bit beyond simply .....long time contributors......etc......... From what I have observed it appears to be more than high post count and the usual contributions. For me it matters not either way.
It must have something to do with a "Net Worth (to Rob328gts)" mathematical computation........ Long time Ferrari owners, participation in local events, promotion of enthusiasm, stuff like that............it's totally descretionary by site management. I can take "no" for an answer, I was married twelve years. I'll NEVER get that time in He11 back, but maybe I'll get credit for it when I meet St. Peter.....
What, Spasso...... you didn't like my Bikini Contributions??????? LOL! It really doesn't bother ME that much that ya'll can't see my photos, they are still in MY scrapbook, after all.
<sigh> Speedy, you would be about last on my list of potential honorary users. It is a very short list though; give me a second, OK, now you are last on it. I have explained the writing program to you many times and you promised an article, but I see you failed to mention that. Maybe you can just write an essay how you add value to FerrariChat.com. High post count to attract sponsors doesnt work, NNO already tried that one. Can someone please explain the consulting and writing program to 4i2fly, I see he hasnt heard of them. FerrariChat.com appreciates your support. I don't hold anything against anyone, each person can determine a balance of value they add and receive. F1Ace, how did you upgrade? Just submit a new subscription? You know you can get your old subscription prorated into your upgrade? Thanks, rob
Hold that thought. According to Sam Kinison you would be eligible for the coveted Tour Guide in Hell position. DL
Back when i was non-subscribed, i was toying with the idea of going Silver and that's when i got an email from Rob; he gave me an all expenses-paid Rossa subscription...! That's why FerrariChat rocks...! Rob, what happened to that writing program you talked about... i'd really like to earn my keep around here...
Speedy, you can quit whining any time. I have a relatively high post count and I paid. So did most of the rest of us, contrary to what Carbon would have you believe. Besides, I think you get more from this site than this site gets from you.
San Kinison,..........sigh... I can only hope to be cradled in such an ample bosom, as he was, as my vital life fluids drain to the shoulder of the road and comingle with the loose gravel there....... You no doubt read of his dying words? Pretty poignent....His fiancee insisted he was talking with someone on the 'other side.' Last on the list Rob? 4i2fly has vouched for me! That's enough for me! How's about a one time only "Special Classification" for BabySitter Speedy: Dishonorable Member! You'd think my Peter G., and Allan L., battle scars, across my back would count for SOMETHING! ROTFLMAO!!!!!!
I couldn't see how to upgrade as you say, so I just bought a new subscription on top of what I had. Y'know, considering the thousands I give away to charities, etc. I really don't miss the $15. But thanks anyway! Best! Wes
Jimpo1, it's an even up swap there. Speedy gets: Entertainment FerrariChat gets: Entertainmant See? Win-Win I'm not whining...just observing. Let me finish my tune up and I'll see how it goes. You know I have no credit cards since the divorce, and Rob has refused redemption on my crushed beer cans...so that's the root of the impasse. I've promised zupra his membership if he's a good boy until Xmas.. I gave my money to Child Advocates. Rob bought the 355C. Life's about choices. Wanna buy this kart??????
Skip lunch one day and throw a couple of bills in an envelope. Rob takes cash. I know, that's how I paid him. And I'm not feeling TOO sorry for a guy that just bought a 2nd Ferrari for his garage. I'll trade you the kart for a Rossa Subscription!
I'll go figure it out and add it to your Rossa time period. It's a manual process, so it has to be run through me. Over the coming weeks I'll be making this process more clear on the Subscription Info page. Let me know, if anyone else has upgraded or interested in it.
I skip lunch EVERY day! THAT's how I do it! LOL! Here....have some sunflower seeds....spit the shells in here.....
