Crappy day at work, endless telecons, dealing with people's issues, trying to thread the needle with decisions. Stressed out and a headache. Come home, take the cover off the 328, fire her up, drive around the neighborhood to get the oil temperature up and wave at the kids out playing, then head out for a brisk drive (it was 50 F today here!). Manage to get a few traffic-free bends and twists on the local roads at sane but fun speeds, quick zip through the traffic-circle-in-the-middle-of-nowhere (on McCaslin Road if you want to know), where the 328 shifts into handling like a go-cart mode and feels like it wants to spring forward like a race horse. "She's a-happy now!" indeed. Fantastic steering and howling noises behind my head sucking the tension out of me. Back home, car in garage, big smile on face!!! Yes, I've got a 30K major coming up, but it's worth it.

The fun of owning these fabulous cars even with what comes with them. My friend own a Diablo and a Pantera and he still wants a Ferrari. Does that tell you something. The prancing horse is UNIQUE!

Definitely hard to keep the speed down on those big sweeping turns past the windmills before getting to Hwy. 93!

Great post. Love the "trying to thread the needle with decisions" line. That's sounds like a typical day for me.

My car is still in hibernation mode. I ended the driving season on a good note and now I'm going out of my mind. I think this is going to be a good summer.

+100 - just lost a close member of my family - done mourning, but reflected on life. It's too short...wanted the 308 or 328 for over 30 years. Did it, and I'm loving it.

    Great job!

Drive it! It's bitterly cold here in NJ...I have my car a week. Took both kids to school 2 days in a row. Then took it out for spin just for good measure.

I've put 100 miles on the car since I have it...and I'd put 1,000 on it if I could!!! I love it!

I'm totally in agreement. I love the car...I used to drive it more when I lived in NJ. This past week it's been in the 70s here in SC!!! Just beautiful weather...but every time I plan on a drive, something comes up. Now we have Jersey weather (50's) - lol. I made myself a promise that I'm going to drive the 308 more...now I just need to do it! AND my wife LOVES going out in the 308!! Wish I could fit her and my daughter...can't leave a 7 year old at home alone while my wife and I go for a drive ;)

True! And my 12 and 9 year old daughters fight to get the ride. So I leave my wife at home! ;)

Just kidding of course! Where in NJ were you? We vacation in SC from time-to-time...lovely there.

From Cherry Hill...now in a suburb of Charleston. It's pretty much year round 308 weather here. And I long to experience what Jim originally posted about. No matter what stresses I have, driving the 308 allows me to forget about them ... even if it's only a trip around the block.

    Nice post.

You leave the driveway asking the 308 to deliver you to a better state of mine and she delivers. Pulling back in your a different and happier person.
