The collection at the Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum (to use the expanded title of Paul Allen's place at Paine Field in Everett, WA) continues to grow and get more interesting.

This was taken at their last monthly flying event last August, which marked the debut of their restored Mosquito (a T.III modified to look like an F.B.VI). Add in a real Bf 109E, a real Fw 190A and a real Zero (though with wrong engine) and you have quite a gathering.

Now, if I could be there when they also fly their Il-2 Shturmovik, that would be icing on the cake!

If you have a chance, go visit the Erickson Collection in Madras. They don't get as much press, but they have an Me109, Fw190, an Oscar, and a whole bunch of other stuff.

I'll consider that, though Madras is quite a haul from Seattle.

It's a fun trip, though, and an entirely different climate.
