Shoulders? If cars are seen as female, then those would be hips. And what sexy hips those are. Damn.

Just saw a 288 GTO over at Ferrari of Orange County today, I have a few pics of it too, beautiful work of art and performance. I wonder who owns that 288 at FOC?

I asked a guy that owned one.... and he said it was more fun to look at than to drive. He called it a "art" car.

I'm always trying to get more stories about what these cars are actually like to drive around in and own?

Armen, you have to see cars as female. Otherwise people would wonder why you were always taking "him" out to warm up "his" fluids and stretch "his" legs and talking about how "he" makes you feel when you rev "him" up. :) Just doesn't seem right.

Which makes it very expensive art. It would make more sense to buy the GTO
10 years from know so one can drive it for nostalgic value rather than comparing
to the performance of modern day f-car

I think that guy was on glue! When Armen was nice enough to let me take his for a spin, I found it very easy to drive - Pretty similar to my 328 (Except of course when those turbos kicked in).

Armen mentioned it's even easier to drive around town because a lot of people don't know how special it is (compared to the Enzo which always draws a crowd).

With Armen at the controls, the car drove like a champ.

Ditto. I never tire of looking at it, its beauty has outlasted the other '80s Ferraris. I recently bought an old '80s Road & Track with the original road test of this car, although apparently the performance varied a bit from mag to mag, all of the tests I have read had glowing reviews. Seems the turbo lag problems of the 288 were greatly improved in the F40, but anyway cars this timeless don't come around very often. Even the interior is beautiful--stark, purposeful and simple.

The 288 GTO is, and always will be, the greatest car ever designed for more reasons than one. This car is the total package!

That is pure art, certainly one of the most beautiful F cars, and easily the best of the 80s. I find it amusing that at the time the GTO and the Testarossa were both roughly the same price (under $100,000 no less!). With all due respect to the 512, we know which car was the better choice. :D
