    I don't think so. I'm pretty sure payment schedules etc are all defined in the Concorde. IIRC, they're all paid about a year in arrears (!) So, Bernie's current payouts are based on your 2012 performance, and you won't see any money for 2013 until late '14.

    Which I guess you could say is a 'bottleneck' of course, but that's the way it is.....

    As for the numbers themselves, Christain Sylt reports that for 2012 (the last for which accounts are somewhat available) the total prize fund for the teams was around $700MM. Again, IIRC, Ferrari gets 5% straight off the top. The remainder is split on a sliding scale very much defendant upon results over the previous 2-3 years. Ergo, best guesses are that the Cans will get somewhere around $130MM next year for winning so well the past four. Tenth is rumored to be around $20MM, with nothing for 11th. Extrapolating between these numbers is left as an exercise for the reader. ;)

    Here's a pretty simplistic overview from CNN earlier this year;

    FOM money isn't enough to fund a team alone. Those that get the most also have the biggest budgets.

    Thought he bought it for a penny?

    Anyway, in the business of F1 Bernie is making the most out of it, follow up some of the drivers. Not so much on the team.

    Agreed. My understanding was that he received his base salary but wasn't paid is 50kEUR per point bonus. That could have been bad information, but I read a quote from Boullier weeks ago which stated just that...

    Now I'm not sure. :D I thought he took out a loan, but I could be mistaken. :eek:

    If anyone knows the Honda -> BrawnGP -> Mercedes team ownership transfer conditions in detail then do please chime in. :)

    All the best,
    Andrew.

    I'm pretty sure Honda sold the team to Brawn for a symbolic single dollar, as long as he agreed to find funding and run it for the entirety of 2009. Well, they go on to win both titles and Mercedes buys a majority stake in the team (75% IIRC) for over 100 million dollars.

    Brawn made a king's ransom on the deal and still retained part ownership of the team.
