What a very nice surprise this thread is. I have carefully read the various entries that talk about the surprise that this origami ferrari is suddenly becoming pretty. I have the same experience, bought my 308gt4 two years ago and started a simple restoration. Not so. Now I am into a full body off program, and more and more I start to appreciate the car!

    Loved JonnyH's post.
I first fell in love with the 246 in the 1970's when my Late father bought a white 11,000 mile GTS reg'd UGO 70M for about £3k. I bought my 246GT about 9 years ago and have just returned it to its original Nuovo Giallo Fly. Wow, what a difference it has made. It always looked a stunning car in red, but in the yellow with contrasting black interior, it takes it to another level, visually. It's not just me, as others have said the same thing.

The man who painted it mentioned a 308GT4 he had painted about 15 years ago which the owner wanted to sell. I ended up buying it and think it is a great car. Not as pretty as the 246 of course, but its looks are growing on me. With the extra power, its great fun to drive and the handling is superb. On researching the car, I discovered it was ordered by Maranello for the 1978 Motor Show. I'm really enjoying it and currently driving it more than the 246.
    Photos herewith.
    Regards to all,
    Chris.

i think its a great car. this model was the first ferrari i got a ride in as a teen and i will always remember it. is it the most beautiful ferrari by no means is it but the design is still interesting and the thing seemed to handle like a go kart sounded amazing and for a ferrari is a bargain back then it was for sale at 27k now they go for 60k still not bad and from what owners have told me its serviceable on your own
