For those that choose to leave a large part of their profile blank, why so? Just trying to understand. Vote one of the buttons. Thanks.

My immediate reaction to any post from a person with a blank profile is to disregard anything they say as worthless.

Second on the disregard list are the clearly fake/false info profiles.
I don't understand why people participate in these kinds of online forums without giving themselves any credibility.

In the UK they would be labeled as Wankers - those whose only gratification comes from playing with themselves.

I agree, only difference is that people giving false info are by far less credible. There could be a justification in non giving private details, there is none for lying.

I can understand some people not wanting to enter their names (although I'm not the least embarrassed about mine). But if one doesn't enter his or her name, how is any privacy diminished by completing the other items?

Vang, what you say is true. Let me specify.
Openly admitted Jokes Identities fall in cathegory of "no info", so they are disregarded unless the author has been around long enough to prove his worth.
False info are, again IMHO, prove that the person generating them is so low in self confidence to lie hiding his own self. As a matter of fact, how can you trist such a people?
    Ciao

If somebody wants a response to a tech question it should be mandatory....if somebody can't spend 2 mins filling in their profile why should somebody spend 2 mins+ answering their tech questions / fixing their problems.

In SteveF's case I can understand as he must get inudated with offers

I just like using my initials, but if you click the link in my profile, you can figure out who I am.

As for the location, depends where the airplane dumped me off this week, so I just go with what I know...

    Yeah what he said!

Seriously, If you've never been a victim of serious unwanted attention then you probably won't understand.

My wife was the victim of a stalker for 4 years and it got serious. We just have to be very careful and hope it works.

While wishing to conform to the site rules out of respect for fellow members, I prefer not to give my name because it would compromise my privacy and in my line of work discretion is quite important. A few members on here already know me and I hope to meet some new friends here too (relatively new to site). Even if I defect to the darkside (considering a 550 but also very aware of how Gallardo's are dropping like a brick in the UK - soon to hit £60k for LHD??) I will still maintain a great passion for the F cars, having owned several. And by the way, I never really understood criticism of 348's, I owned three, one of each flavour, and absolutely loved them. To anybody considering a 348, go for it, it is a great old school Ferrari..sorry to digress, but I dont like 348-bashers, and I have many fond memories of them, it was my intro to Ferrari ownership..
