Well, in this case, its kind of a no-brainer. H2 or 355 Spider, which would you rather keep?

I argee with Allen on this one...The 360 will not hold it's value once they stop makeing that model. As soon as the warrenty period is up,including the pre owned warrenties, you'll see these cars sitting on the lots without buyers. The 360 will become the next 308 if not the GT4 in about 5 years. Nobody is going to want to fix them...espeacially the F1 cars. they will be just too expensive to keep on the road. And that is a huge issue if not the main issue. I see the older ferrari's climbing in price yes even the 308's because these cars are really the last ones that real owners and ethusists will beable to keep on the road. The newer cars are just plain silly when it comes to electronics and such.

Lambo is due for a big price jump. Why isn't the Miura worth in the 120k region? Many say that this is THEE car that started the entire exotic car market. Lambo's influance on the exotic car market can not be denied for to much longer. Look for the the older Lambo's start to rise in price.

The newer stuff from any manufactuere will not fair well in the used car market. There comes a point were it will cost more to maintain or fix problems that arise..then it would be just to replace the entire car..sort of like what has happend to the TR and the 308 cars. Tell me 6 to 10 years from now somebody is going to pay say 30k for a used 360 and then have to take it to the dealer for a 20k f1 trans replacement..not

Why does she need to convince you to sell the 355. You said she's the only reason you keep it. If she wants an H2 - sell the 355 and buy her one. You want her to be happy don't you.

Now I know the only reason you keep it is so you can give everyone **** on Fchat and say - but I own a Ferrari :)

That's already happening on 355's. They are "cheaper" than new cars, but when the service comes due, the uninitiated choke. Then they go back to the used car lot. At least that's what seems to be happening around here. It's not limited to exotics. I just got rid of my BMW 740. God help the knucklehead that get's that thing without a warranty. He's toast.

Im here for Allan on this one, I have seen his car and i think it was his wife, or someone prior to his wife i saw him about 3 years ago... His car looked good and his girl did too!

    BTW,
I had a Ferrari 360 Spider 2001 that i had the toughest time selling. Dealers wanted to give me nothing, ebay brought me more dismay so i ended up dumping the car to a retail buyer who became lucky. It could have been color or options which were...Grigio alloy with dark blue interior, daytona seats, no shields F1 no calipers. 7,000 miles. 135,000 was all i got. I loved the look of the car in that color but couldnt wait to get rid of it, the F1 transmission would go into Neutral when shifting gears sometimes. embarrasing with a female counterpart in the car...ay

Excalty my point...All cars will be affected by this not just exotics. The BMW is a great example of what will happen to the new exotics with all the wizz-bang electronics. This is why the 360 will drop like a stone in price and the older cars will rise in price as a result of them being easier to own,and maintain.

One bit of advice if you're thinking about a Miura. Buy the most pristine SV you can find. I agree that these are keepers. IMHO in ten years these will be worth MUCH more. The problem is the cost of restoring one can quickly exceed the price you can buy a pristine one for. As Keith Martin says: "Pay for the restoration get the car for free." I also agree that when the warrantee goes all of these new cars will be a disaster. In fairnesss to Ferrari they've seen this coming and are starting to offer extended warrantee's out to 12 years. If I was buying a used F car I'd pay up for an extended warrantee. The only used F cars that offer this are those sold through authorized dealers.

Although prices are falling, 135 for a 360 spider is not realistic.

Allan, his cars, and his lovely wife are quite real. His passion is also very real. In the end passion is much more important to me than preference.

Well, if shed be happy with a Porsche 996TT, id definately trade it. But even I, as Ferrari biased as i am, would rather have the 355 over an H2.

    HOLY SH*T 253!!!!!!!!

A client of ours sold one 575 silver black with TUBI and we lowered the car! Titanium with black for 175,000 no joke. it had 1000 miles
If anyone knows of the young kid with the Enzo and F50 in South Florida thats who it is.

He bought the car from the collection. One of the first 575s in Florida.

i thought your point in a previous posting was F cars don't hold their value. my point is that yours was a blanket statement and simply not true. and 60k gets you a drivable boxer, but not a "good" one.

and of course fewer boxers were made than 360s. i wasn't comparing boxers to 360s. not sure why you were either.

if you really have a ferrari, please don't drive around in the daylight. the brand has an image to keep up.

I am with you on the down turn but I know the market pretty well and 135 for a 360 spider that doesn't have issues aint happening. I would say rock bottom for no stories would at least be in the 160's.

Either you had a lemon or you're the worst salesman in the world - $135K for a 2001 360 spider - LOL
