It seems strange to not have a model named after him or at least a model version. After all his success is what helped them in F1 so it seems strange not to name at least one model when they were at the height of their domination to honor Him. Like "Ferrari Schumacher" something like that for a flagship. Or The Ferrari FXX Schumarcher as a tribute to him would of been fitting. Edit. Fixed the name in the post.

Looks nice though showing more photos would be nice. I think he is justified for a standalone model of him in his honor though.

A standalone model? Unless the car is built by the person/company that wears its name, most named cars seem to wait until that person has passed away and after some time they use the name to honor them.

I've always thought it kind of cheesy to name a car after someone. Even naming the Enzo that is kind of tacky. It puts a stigma on the car immediately, and equating to the likes of Schumacher, it better be bloody amazing. I think McLaren made a mistake naming their newest car the Senna, regardless how it performs.

Schumacher had a sponsorship deal with Mercedes when he had his accident, so Ferrari has no reason and probably wouldn´t be able to do that.

Also, given Schumacher´s personal circumstances, I think it´s better to keep a low profile about the whole issue.

Seems to me there was an entire brand of car named after someone (in a way). Dino

  15. He helped them or did their successful cars help him? (As in, would other drivers not won championships in the same dominating cars???)
What model/s did they build? I never heard of them. I know Ferrari built the Dino.... ;)

Agreed. Rolling out a new model named for Michael would bring unwanted attention to him and his family.

Technically speaking it was called the 60F1, and you could get 2 different liveries (Alonso or Gonzalez). Somehow the Alonso edition has floated around the internet and everyone thinks the car is actually named the Alonso edition. ;)

The Ferrari Enzo was amazing though and it spawned alot of cars which were amazing too the FXX which made the custromer racing program, the Mc12 and it's race variants which won alot of wins in races and championships in its class. (I still don't get why no Ferrari Enzo racing version of it in gt class racing also. Maybe not to complete with their allied brand MC12, but still). The only thing I wish it could of done really was challenge the McClaren F1's top speed.

Most of those cars are great reputation wise in terms of performace. The "Dino" was also used on their race cars which some of them were successful.

I think it’s as a few have said, due to michaels condition, they don’t want to bring attention to him at this point. Should he recover, or something else happen (god forbid) then maybe they will name a model for him, but I’d hope it would be a standalone supercar, not just a special edition...... Michael deserves to have his name emblazoned across the very best supercar Ferrari can produce, and exclusive among any others, just as much as the Enzo was named for the old man, and no one else’s name appears against the car

Michael Schumacher was a Mercedes driver.
They bankrolled his early years, and he finished his career with them.
