George, i hate to tell you this. You are not a contrarian, you just like what you like and it doesnt matter what others like. I resemble that remark too and I think the 612 looks awesome in yellow. Go find yourself one!
To me the 612 is an elegant design. The lines are simple and interesting and the overall presentation is rather timeless. I feel no compelling need for other people to like my car. I like it. The 612 was never meant to be a mid engine V8 supercar with vents and fins to maximize airflow and downforce. It was to be a gentleman's grand tourer, and it excels at that role. It lacks the flash that appeals to the bedroom poster supercar internet crowd, and that is precisely why I like it. They will never get it. They are the same people who don't understand or like a 60's 250GT Lusso because it isn't a 250 GTO. Here is a picture of mine in a parking lot from a few weeks ago. I liked the colors and the angles of the walls and the styling lines on the car in the lighting in that alley. Image Unavailable, Please Login
No doubt but that the metallic silvers and grays show the lines the best. The cove really pops in that photo!
My 456M was titanio/black manual, and it was perfect. The 612 is F1, 2008 non OTO HGT2, silverstone/cuoio daytona, and perfect, too. Except the scuderia shields, I was looking for one without, but most of them have them, sadly. So nearly perfect. The gated transmission is a must in a 412, a 456, a 550, for all the reasons we all know, AND because the automatic and the early F1 are absolutely not an option. But the late 612’s F1 IS an option, it fits to the car, and just makes You drive better. I really doubt, that the gated transmission gives You the the handling You need for the 612. Maybe it’s more a romantic thing. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Inspiration, yes, execution, painful [emoji37] To look at it’s intriguing except for the front grill, to touch inside is awful, it felt very plastic, and very far from anything coach built. IMHO [emoji1431] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I too never cared for the design when it was first introduced but now I find the car's design very elegant and fluid. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I absolutely love my 612. Just treated it to some love and attention. Paint correction, paint protection and changed the alloys to a 'dirty gold'. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
