Why no turbo or supercharging on recent Ferraris?

    Now as far turbocharging future Ferrari's I believe it is almost a fact as JG pointed out and we have the McLaren MP4-12C to compete with regarding the engine and emissions standards in the current and near future. Just because an engine is turbocharged it does not mean there will be any lag especially with the newest generation of turbo technology. I know all too well what turbo lag is having owned an MR2T with a T66 turbo and the lag actually assisted in all out runs as a 2-4 car length advantage would quickly be discounted and there is nothing like the afterburner affect.

    Funny how turbocharging is now being embraced as the new technology I guess it has finally caught up with the implementation. A simple and easily removable MBC can be used for an additional 50-100hp which would not (hopefully) stress the engine or fuel requirements but we are now out of the 'iron block' era due too weight savings mainly so it is a dance on a tight rope.

    Let there be boost and embrace it.
