Why not relocate the oil filter?

    I am with Jim on this, most of the "issues" from start up wear are from bad driver behavior: the unsuppressed urge to keep the plugs clean by revving the snot out of a cold 50s-70s era engine. I suggest: On start, once the engine is firing, even if rough, its best to leave it at the lowest RPM that it will continue to run for at least 30 seconds to get the moving oil to the right places, then add enough engine speed to smooth it out for the next 4-5 minutes, thereafter, I holding it to under 3000 RPM until the engine temps stabilize, then under 4000 RPM until the oil temp levels out, after that what ever the moment calls for.
