The god-damned idiots in this world royally piss me off. I’m 18, and I’m the one who is getting pissed off at the 40 year old guys who can’t ****ing drive in a god-damned PARKING LOT!

Step 1: I’ve just gotten into my car, and then begin to back out, I can not see the idiot in his SUV.

Step 2: I’ve back halfway out, I look behind me and see idiot in SUV, who is not slowing down.

Step 3: I slam on my brakes because the idiot in the SUV wants to DRIVE AROUND ME, without ever touching his brakes and actually says “**** you!” as he pulls into the spot one ahead of me. I also note even after getting out of my car to argue with the guy I never once used an insult untill he called me an *******, an idiot, a ****er and had sworn a good 15 times. Me? I called him an ******* when I told him “**** it, look up the damned law *******, I’m leaving.”

Yes, I am against doing this type of thing normally and I generally don’t, but it was a goddamned parking lot, it’s an old guy with graying hair and his wife who is swearing at me from his SUV, and there is a bloody rent-a-cop standing 20 feet away while all of this happens!

Why I see this guy as a ****tard.

    1) The area he used to drive around me was… get this… a PARKING SPOT
    2) Idiot in the SUV does NOT have the right of way when I am in the MIDDLE of backing out of parking spot and half my car is bloody already in the road way before he rounds the corner and can see me!
    3) Idiot in the SUV had the audacity to not only say “**** you” but continued to insult and argue about the matter even, also saying that in the event of a crash I would have been at fault. No, you would have been ****tard, as you would of driven into my god-damned rear bumper!

See pictures for a detailing of the event.

That sucks. Just try not to let it get to you because some people don't have any courtesy and/or don't know how to drive. Just shrug it off and continue with life.

I see this all the time. But watch it, if you think you should just let him hit you, don't. Reason being, they will fight you to the end because there is no fault in a private lot / non public road, besides, he will not improve.

A: You are never going to change him
B: Before you get out of your car you better make sure it's worth the fight because next time the guy in that van may make it into the worst day of your life. And if you think just because he was 40 forget it. I know 60 year olds that can use you to clean the floor.

The SUV guy was an idiot in more ways than one. The days of being able to "mouth off" to an unknown driver SHOULD be long gone, if one values his well being. For all that SUV guy knows, or more importantly DOESN'T know, is that you could be some hot head gang member who would pull out a pistol and start shooting just because he started "disrespecting" you by cussing at you. SUV guy was an idiot for another reason. As soon as he walked away from his truck, YOU could have driven around the corner, picked up a rock the size of a shoe box, and chunked it into his windshield. Or much more easily, using the SUV to cover your actions, simply pull out your keys and drag them down the full length of the truck as you walk away.
SUV boy wouldn't last long in the Darwin inspired world of urban survival.

Rifledriver is SO correct. Just last weekend, I was eating at a restaurant with a friend of mine. He quietly pointed at an older guy with bald head and a slightly chubby frame. He informed me that the guy was a multiple level black belt karate and akido instructor. He wasn't an oriental looking guy out of some cheap kung fu movie. He looked just like any typical Southern white truck driver guy. But according to my friend, he could have mopped the floor with 6 or 7 guys at once. BEWARE!!!

As much as I'd opt for anything at all, even getting out of the car and fighting with the guy, I would never... never do something like that to someone else's car. And if you are a car guy too, you'd mess up a guy's face, family, life, but never touch his car.

Gun fighting is to save your life not your parking space.

Eos, I grew up in a rough town, I have a few scars to show for it. Calm down and you might live to be my age.

I do and always carry a spyder-co in my pocket. I also have some mild martial arts training. I am not concerned with who ever in another car unless they are carrying a gun. Which in this case is so far from the likelihood of possibility that I considered it and then said "Screw it, this is California".

The point was that he was 40 and had his WIFE in the car. Not that he was 40 and therefor I could beat him up. I never had any intention of starting a fight. Only of asking him why exactly he felt he had the right-of-way, why he committed an illegal act, and why he started swearing at me for his actions.

I also noted that I normally do not do this and indeed this is the only time I have. I noted that specifically for a post like yours, because yes I already know that line of reasoning I have already posted it into another thread and I do not need to hear it from someone else.

Urotrash-new avatar? Anyways this is true most of the time , but not always. If the crash leads to an injury fault can be assigned private property or not. Example if I'm driving 95mph in a mall parking lot and hit a pedestrian in a crosswalk I can not be held liable. Not always true.

Um its not the same. While both of us could of been hothead gang members with guns under our seat, only one of us is leaving. I was the only one in a position to damage his car, and oh yes the though of keying him did of course occur. But then that is most definitely not an excusable action. And there was, as I mentioned, a rent-a-cop nearby.

    Just kidding.

For the record; I was really joking, you should NEVER use anything bigger than a 9mm to defend your parking space.

BTW. I'd love to hear (PM) your long distance shooting story.

BTW#2. I really was joking about the 9mm. Use a .380Auto max. OK, .32ACP and that's my last offer.

You have been driving for about two years....Get use to it. It will only get worse! What if the guy you popped off to was some lowlife young punk who would not think twice about walking up to you and put a bullet in your head? They are out there everywhere. Blow it off and keep your mouth shut. It sucks, but bad drivers are bad drivers and they don't give a rats a$$ about you.

If someone gets out of their vehicle, and is clearly intent upon doing me grave physical harm to the point of endangering my life, then I will respond with great speed in kind with lethal force.

"Just roughing someone up" is not OK in this society, and if you are going to get into a physical altercation with me then I have no choice to assume you mean to finish the job and see me dead.

Do NOT get in confrontations over traffic situations that 'amost' happened. It is NOT worth it, and may get you killed.

    Yes, in California too.

I don't see where anyone said anything about "just roughing someone up" anywhere. Indeed I see a point where the statement "no intention of a fight" is noted. Indeed I share the same view of a violent confrontation, if someone does start a physical fight with me, I assume they mean to finish the job hence why I always have a weapon. However in this case, a violent confrontation had virtually no chance of occurring, and if it appeared as if was going to occur I would simply get back into my car. Seeing as I was never more than oh, one foot away from my open door? I have no need to get charged with assault or sued over medical expenses that I wouldn’t be able to pay.

I really don't see where a comment like that is coming from exactly... do I need to type out a transcript of the entire event? At no time was my voice above normal discussion level. At no time did I indicate I had a weapon. At no time did I speak any words to instigate a fight. I asked the man questions and told him the actual law on the matter.

What you need to be picturing here is a 18 year old kid in slacks, belt and and a hawaiian shirt who was stopping by to get a movie after finishing his calculus class asking the idiot in question why exactly he's shouting at other people from his car, driving recklessly and shouting in public in front of his wife.

Arthered you need to read that up there again, assuming you've read it just now. I see an assumption being made by everyone that I'm getting out of my car slamming the door and yelling at someone. Frankly that is not what occurred.

You don't want to hear this but this is what I would think if I was a Policeman attending a fender bender or a homicide that almost happened:

Let's look at it from the other guy's point of view. He is cruising through a parking lot, going straight down an open lane and somebody starts to back out right in front of him! He has the right of way just as if he was cruising down a public street. .

From your perspective you were half way out, but I bet he saw you STARTING to back out from his better vantage point. He can't believe somebody would pull out right infront of him while he clearly has the right of way, just as he would be surprised if someone backed out of a driveway right in front him going down the public street.

REMEMBER: YOU said you "could not see the idiot in his SUV", but I bet he saw you much earlier. He has the right of way to continue straight progress, not someone entering his path.

So, I think he clearly had the right of way, your obligation was to stop as soon as you saw you were entering his path.

    Sorry.

Well in France , if you are backing out , you dont have priority even if your car is half way out. Its up to the driver coming your way to let you or not , continue to back out.
