Random thought: Why is there a dimmer for the instruments lights in the 308? Was that the ingeneers idea of a sick joke? It just cracked me up thinking of it yesterday. Phil
I agree, that's pretty hilarous!! Have you changed out the bulbs yet? I can't find the Sylvania 2723 anywhere in Winnipeg! I know it's a 2.3w, where as the 2721 is a 1.1w I hope there's no melting of anything after I do change them, which I WILL unless anyone can steer me away from that? I've put in Birdman's fuseblocks and the power window boosters and am totally happy with those improvements! Ciao!! Dennis in Winnipeg
I haven't changed the bulbs. I'm not very mechanically inclined and I don't know how to access the back of the instruments. However, I did too changed the fuse box (I still don't know why I did it, mine was still in very good condition!) and the windows accelerators (very happy with those), but that was all easy!
I did my previous 308 and 328, nothing will melt. I did note that the 2723 gave more brightness than the other bulbs changed, so one side looks tad brighter than the other. Weird they would spec different bulbs for the various gauges. Don't forget to bypass the reostat too, in fact do that first! You can order the 2723 bulbs on line, I'm sure.
Same guy who came up with the 'SLOW DOWN' lights at the time emissions controls were pushing 308 horsepower down to the 200bhp mark...
