The video isn't significant, but the question is: On my normal TV, and I missing a big portion of the SpeedTV/FIA wide-screen racing coverage? Is this the excuse I need to upgrade to a better wide screen flat TV? http://video-en.racing-live.com/video/iLyROoaftkud.html This clip shows a whole lot more than I ever see on my F1 coverage. For me, the text/telemetry is always at the outer edge of the screen.
I have a wide screen and it still doesn't show up like that. I've never seen all the way to the sidepods during the on-board shots. Anyone know anything about this?
Very interesting!...... Are the races broadcast in HD in Europe? [I seem to remember someone posting that the onboard cameras, and the others of course, are now indeed HD.] It's certainly 16:9 format and shows more "width" than our SpeedTV feed which is good old NTSC 4:3 and has vertical bars on each side of the picture on my HD monitor..... Question for the SpeedTV forums I guess. I'd give something significant to see the GP's in HD! Thanks for posting, Cheers, Ian
Oh baby... I fear Mrs. JRR is going to crap when a big satellite dish arrives simply to get the ITV feeds. Anybody out there in the broadcast biz, or have hookups to SpeedTV? d
I downloaded the first race this year because I missed it. Well, to my surprise, it was in WIDESCREEN format, meaning it is being broadcast in HD. The download I got was from the Netherlands. Interesting! I wish we got it in HD.
It isnt broadcast in HD anywhere, but starting this season, it is available to each broadcaster in both 4:3 and 16:9 formats. Speed has just chosen to use the 4:3 feed.
