This question is for those who ordered a custom Ferrari from the factory. After you made your selections and the price given, was there any wiggle room for the price or was it set in stone? I am Interested in ordering a 488 and wanted some information so I can negotiate, if any.

    Set in stone?

Most people don't know Moses had 11 commandments. He lost one. The 11th commandment is "never negotiate the price of a new Ferrari when you have a 2 year waiting list."

To be honest every dealer would love to charge 50 grand over if FNA would let them.

There isn't any room. The demand exceeds supply. If you don't want to pay full MSRP, they will simply sell your allocation to the next person on the list. Absent some external event over which you have no control (like, an economic crash), if you buy the car, and you get a combination of colors and options other people might want (i.e. don't buy a green or purple one), you can probably sell it in a year for as much or more than you paid for it. So forget trying to get a deal; you already are getting one by paying "only" MSRP.

If you want a California or FF, I've personally experienced and seen some room, but none on others.

The easiest way to get up the list is buy an overpriced FF from a dealer and tell him you'll trade it on a 488. They can't take a mark up on a 488 but this is another way to get some additional profit for a sale.

If you want a deal on a super car, walk into any McLaren dealer.

Exactly.. I bought the over priced FF for my Speciale but the free lunch at Montana surely made up the difference so no complaining!

Depends on the country. From reading the above - in the USA no wiggle - in other countries there is some.

Chances are that you won't be able to order one. Sounds like you have never ordered one. Given that you are in Cali you won't be able to order one now.

Wiggle room on a car that has a 12 mo wait list?? Of course. I think 12% off should be fair. Don't take anything less
