with such drastic change in design....this doesn't bold well for the resale value of current elise model... make one wonders if a used loaded 05 elise w/ touring package and hardtop and be picked up in the mid to high 30's by the end of this year....could be a great pick up for those in the mkt.
How expensive are Elises over there anyway? I know you can get a new Elise for about 35000 over here in Belgium.
600kg? That is the same weight as the F1 cars. Bore and stroke that motor to a 2.1L, get a turbo on the N/A model, run ~20psi, and you would create an absolute monster of a track day car.
Is it going to be street legal? it's hard to tell from the article. I doubt it will be in the US. Shouldn't hurt current elise value too much if it's a track only car.
is this a track only car? only glanced at the article. agree....but wonder if they will mold the street version to replicate that...?
Doubt it... they already had enough trouble getting the car into the US in it's current form. If anything, the next model will be a bigger, cushier, bloated version of what we currently have in order to meet ridiculous US regulations.
that is crazy! imagine puting a new turbo on there, that thing would be a rocket! I must have one of those.
They will. The Exige is street legal (in the UK... soon in the US)... so they would have no reason to get rid of it.
cool, when i was in scotland in march, i got to sit in an exige at a mall there, and that thing was awesome, i want one, they need to bring it to america.
