    Hey guys,

My speedometer is out for repairs and i wanted to start her up and move her to the other side of garage and maybe drive her around the block too (the 308) :). So the question is, will she start and run or will something bad happen?

Don't forget to put the steering wheel back on. Enjoy the ride

Why removed in the first place? That's a strange thing to do when removing the cluster.

I installed a new MOMO. It was done at the same time.

It makes the job so much easier to have the wheel out of the way. I don't think you could get the cluster out of the "hood" without removing the wheel because of the depth of the gauges.

That makes sense. I did try to unscrew the allen screw from my 308 once. Forget it! After trying one screw, it was so tight, I broke the allen. The cluster did come out with no problem with the steering wheel in place....About 45 minutes to replace one $2 bulb!

the cluster will come out without removing the wheel. its not fun, but it can be done. the forward cluster "hood" bolts are the fun ones to put back in.

Removing & reinstalling the cluster w/o removing the steering wheel can indeed be done. Just be careful that you don't break one of your column switch stalks while in the process(don't ask)...
