Do you think 308s will really rise in value?? Or just hold their value?
They will ABSOLUTELY rise in value. Every single Ferrari does eventually and there is no reason why the 308 won't. And because they are universally considered very beautiful and iconic cars, like the 246, they will have strong collector appeal. Look at the trends in Ferrari pricing and you will see that every Ferrari starts out expensive, depreciates, eventually hits a low, then starts to appreciate. 60's muscle cars are doing the same thing. In the 80's you could buy any classic 60's muscle car for under a thousand bucks. Now some of them are trading at Ferrari prices and they are getting more expensive as the cars are snapped up by collectors and they become rarer. This is CERTAIN to happen to 308's and this is one of the reasons why many car investors consider the 308 a good investment now. They are cheap (well, as cheap as a Ferrari can be) now, but they won't be forever. Think about the people who bought 246 Dinos for well under $10K in the 1980's. They aren't even "real" Ferraris and look at their value now. If you had told someone that a 246 would be worth $70K-$100K in 20 years, they would've laughed at you. Even funnier is that they will continue to rise in value.
Incidentally, I'm not advocating buying a Ferrari just as an investment, but I'm saying that the 308 is a bargain now, a great car, an automotive icon, and will go UP in value. Try that with a Camry. Birdman
