Will 550 Maranello wheels fit on a 355?

I believe the offset is very different.

 

I've got them on my 308 if that helps.

 

Oh, the offset is 46mm front and 32mm rear

 

mk e, are those OEM? If so how did you manage the rears? The OEM rears on the 550 are simply too wide to work I thought on 3x8s (not 348)

They are OEM. The rears bolted right on nicely....after I moved the lower shock mount in 1.62" and went to coilovers with 2.5" ID springs.

 

How did that effect handling and such? Is the rear better or worse IYO?

 

Well, I did the wheels the same time I did the new shocks/springs. Over-all, it was a night and day improvement.

 

My question really is that I wonder the effect of changing the suspension by such a LARGE amount. I am putting 360 rims on my 328, and to compensate for the 255mm limit w/out rubbing, I am going to be using a 255 tire on a 10 inch rim . I was going to go your route, but worried of the effects by altering the suspension in such a large manner.

What are your thoughts? Also what tires are u running?

 

moving the shock mount has very little efect on the suspension. It does make the shock move a little farther and adds a little more load to the a-arm mounts, but not enough to be concernded about in either case. The wheel motion is not changing. I am running 285/35-18 tires. You need to change to the smaller 2.5" springs to do that, to get the wide wheel on, the shock mount need to move. Nick carriers shocks with a 2" ID spring I think, that lets you run a 285 tire on a 9.5" wheel, but I don't know if you can get a 10" on.

Also, I thought Maranello rims were 18x8.5 fronts and 18x11 rears...these are what you are using correct?

I re-checked the wheels, they are 8.5 front, 10.5 rear. I used a 1" spacer in front and none in back. That kept the wheels in the fender enough not to rub on the fender lip. If I tried to space out the rears to clear the shock , they'd need to go about 5/8 or 3/4 of an inch, then they would be outside the fender, I didn't want that. I did compensate for the ratio change in the spring math, but honestly it was small enough to ignore, I thry it washed out in the rounding.

That's mine, and the only video I have. It was tuning the the first blower motor, I haven't had the new one to the dyno yet...it's much more powerful these days.
