    Since ferrari hasn't made a 4 seat spider since the mondial, any thoughts on whether a 612 spider is in the plans for the future? The 3 factory dealers I interact with most say they don't know of any plans....

    I'm sure they won't build this kind of car. The reason why is that there is no market space for this kind of Ferrari (except some extremely rich customers).

    My dealer said me that in 2007 or 2008 will be made a 612 California because America wants a car spyder with 4 seats.
    It will have the 575 superamerica roof.

    Thanks for the pics richy. hadn't seen those.

    I think the car would sell very well in the US, but would definitely steal sales from the 612 coupe.

    i hope not. if it become reality certainly it won't go for 100k over sticker when it comes out.

    Nothing ever is official coming from dealers, they'll say anything to get a deposit!

    speaking of this though, what's the company that made the best 456 spider conversion out in California....it was on the cover of Automobile magazine years ago, maybe they'll do a 612.

    Sounds very dubious to me, no market and there's no way the 612's roof could fold back and down into a space over the boot. Remember this isn't a mid-engined car like the 575.

    furthermore, a canvas top would be quite fine and it seems to look good if its like those sketches, makes it chunkier and more aggressive. Just what it needs imo.

    i dont really like that idea. that pic reminds me of a chrysler sebring convert.
    my dad had that as a rental car when we were at a track event. (horrible)

    A 600 Imola probably yes,a Barchetta or Spider,not a chance for 612.

    That reminds me far too much of the Viper. I can see that viper's silouhette in those sketches.

    hello,

    if america wanted a car spyder with four seats why did the mondial t cabriolet sit unsold in dealers showrooms after the speculator bubble burst in 1991?
