So there is a suggestion from Toto downwards that Lewis might not return - do we believe it likely ? By extension who is available and/or has a get-out in their contract ? Nick deVries perhaps is one
If Lewis were to quit the team would be smartest to get Bottas back. Filling the Alfa seat would be easy and Mercedes would want as much stability as possible. That said I think Lewis is a fighter and will want to keep racing.
.....probably instigated by looie’s publicity management in order to keep his name foremost in the off season.
If you haven't noticed his name is always foremost. You only have to look at this forum for evidence. You think anyone cares about maxipad that spends his whole time playing simulator in his mama's basement and playing with Kvyat's bimbo?
He's contracted and ain't buying himself out. More important.....why even consider it (I don't)....."it will be or not".....you'll see soon enough.
Maldonado is a race winner and a Gp2 champion. He was fast but inconsistent. Mazepin is not formula one material.
I'm not so certain Alfa would release him, as he is under contract. It woujld not be at all easy, from Alfa's viewpoint, to fill the seat with a first-rate drivwe who can drive competitively and win.
Who and when was that? And how do you know? The optimal setup, on any car, on any weekend, can be, and most often, not be, found/achieved. (Ever hear drivers (rarely) say "Anybody could have won in this thing today.") We're human; not perfect.
