    Hey gang,

This is what happens when I have a day off.

It usually means I spend money, but not today. Today I'm having TR thoughts.
    That's Testarossa thoughts.
I went for a ride today and was thinking of the different things I want to do to my 308. Fun upgrades that is.:) So one of the big things I want is more power. Who doesn't. The supercharger sounds really good. So that's one thing. New rims and tires, (I still have the 390's), a nice Euro spoiler, maybe bigger brakes.

    So I'm figuring a $20k upgrade?

I have read it cost more, WAY MORE, to maintain the Testarossa. It wont be driven that much either, don't hate me, I don't drive the 308 as much as I should either, sorry. That's one way of keeping maintaines cost down I guess.

The 308 runs great, thanks to Verell and the rest of the gang.:) But........

what will happen "if" I sell the 308 and get a Testarossa?? Will I ever be able to hang out with the guys again?? Will Verell, Birdman, Jwise, Enjoythemusic ever want to talk to me again?? Will I be a castaway??:)

Well, these are just thoughts for now, but who knows.

Boy, i should start working on Sundays. ;)

    Any thoughts gentleman?

    Chris,

    Traitor!!! ;) Kidding!

I would welcome you getting a TR. It gives us a whole new engine to learn on! Hell, I figure it's gonna need belts sooner or later and we'll have to figure out how to do them! Fun stuff! Verell's garage will be covered in a whole different set of engine parts!

Besides, then you can sell your 308 to Scott and he finally will have a decent car!

I have to agree, if you want significantly more power and you aren't married to the idea of keeping the 308 like I am, you should go for a TR. They are a LOT of bang for the buck right now.

You will be fine as long as you don't pull a Jesse James and turn the 308 into a pasta machine.

    Chris,

The TR and the 308 are very different beasts. FIRST i would decide if you want something tossable on the street and track events (308) or a nice smooth ride with lots of low-end torque stock (TR). You know the way i choose... If/when you desire tweaking the 308 feel free to e-mail me :)

The TR is a great car... though on the track you'd really need to figure out how to get weight severely down and weaight balance something that resembles proper distribution. Fchatter Mr. Hubble has a tweaked out TR/512 he tracks and i must say he basically stripped the car bare and redid things.

i won't hate you. :) the TR doesn't cost "way more" than a 308 to maintain. it's more, yes, but you won't need to make major lifestyle changes to afford it. the key as always is to get a nice TR to begin with.

I bought my 308GTB with Phil Tegtmeier's help 9 years ago. The link listed above is to his site where you'll find a nice Berlinetta Boxer.

Phil's one of the best! If he's representing a BB, then you know it's right!

Go drive the TR. Do it in the city, in traffic, go parallel park it. Then come back here and try to tell us you want one of those pigs. :D

Unless u have a monumentally huge garage, just where r u going to store that beheamoth? I just ran thru this process, but I was coming from a 348. I am cured of my TR curiosity. This is my wish for u. :)

I traded my 308 in for a TR and never had any regrets. The TR was an icon in the 80's, and it still has an amazing stance on the road, so go for the upgrade my friend, it will bring you many hours of pleasure.
