since the automotive market is on a downturn, will getting your Fcar wrenched on start to drop in price? or would that ever happen?
I am in the collision bizz and I see some guys having a hard time at it, and droping there labor rates, maybe some service dept will be happy to see you bring your Fcar in for a major service.

    or am I just dreamin???

I can not see quality shops lowering their rates. Generally, they have more work than they can handle.

The cost to work on the cars is increasing (parts/tools/labor/etc) so I have a hard time seeing prices drop.

People with the real money to own these types of cars will pay for the best work. I say no as well.

Yeh right. Because they are deep discounting the new 430's. What planet is this happening. There is no such thing as automotive downturn when you have a waiting list for new models. It still took me a couple months wait to get my 355 serviced in May.

well I think its the service sector thats getting hit! some large collision repair shops that do 20mil+ a year drop 20 %, that makes you look for it in other areas of the automotive sectors.

plus I am willing to bet "lunch" that the smaller to med size service repair shops for high end cars will slow down, and may even drop there over priced labor/work to!

Until the day comes that you can take your Ferrari to a good mechanic and he can do a major service and return the car in two days, you will not see the prices drop. As long as he's not just sitting around with nothing to do and waiting for you to show up, he has no reason to cut his rate.
