will the 575 headlights fit a 550?

Why wouldn't they? Same car from the outside except rims and maybee some other little things. Why can't you just buy some xenon lightbulbs?

 

Xenon is not just lightbulbs. It uses a completely different wiring circuit and needs high voltage. There are HID its available for just about any car and I'm sure you could find a way to get a 575M HID set of lights and retrofit it to the 575.

I just replaced my 550 halogen type headlight assemblies because they were very dirty from the inside (can not be cleaned). I had asked my dealer if 575 HID headlight assemblies will fit a 550, but he said NO. So I ended up paying a lot of money for the same old halogen type lights.

You can buy HID conversion kits with high voltage ballasts and real HID bulbs with the proper H7 type bulb base to fit into the OEM H7 halogen bulb socket, but they may not be street legal. It seems that HID lights are required to be fitted with automatic leveling and washer system.

It should be possible. Just look at the 550 that was used in Bad Boys II, that one had 575 light units. Also, Jean Todt's 550 Barchetta used light clusters that later became standard on the 575.

 

There were both a 550 and a 575M - with standard headlights for each model (the Ferrari's was the only thing worth watching in that crap movie).

 

575 headlights will fit directly into a 550. I have a friend who has done this in his 550 Barchetta without any problems.

 

Do you have a picture? I would love to see what that looks like.

 

I only saw some trailers of the movie, among which the car chase scene. I am pretty sure there was a 550 with the 575 headlights in it. I identified it as a 550 because of the front grille. Or maybe they messed up the looks of the car as they did with the exhaust note! :-(

 

Sorry i don't have a picture of the car but if you see BBII in some scenes (during the bridge scene and right after when they stop by the river i am going by memory) you can tell its a 550 with 575 headlights because the front bumper as well as interior of the car belongs to a 550 and the headlights belong to a 575.

Yeah I know this is old thread..

My car had changed from 550 headlights to 575 back in 2004.. What you guys think should I change back to 550 headlights or keep the 575 headlights? Im going to get the car painted to Grigio Titanio and putting OEM wheels back

If you paint her titanio, you will need to paint the headlight buckets, too, if you want to keep them like a 575, otherwise....
