    Or will it burst again ? and soon ? Prices are nearing 1989's value for some models ( 275 GTB/4 @ 700 000 $ ; Dinos @ more than 100k$ , Miuras @ 400k$ ) .

Do you think these values are representatives of what those cars are really worth ? Or are they currently overvalued ? ( I hope so as i want a Miura SV :) ) ..

Its not as nutty as it was way back then, but I see some crazy numbers tossed around these days. What really blows my mind are the "clone" prices this time around. You make a chassis "look" like a real "big block" this, or "Hemi" that, and you can score huge. Stunning.

As for the early Ferrari's, or cars like the Miura, I think the prices for the "interesting" sportscars are going to be strong - period. These cars are works of art, and are a feather in any collectors hat. There are some buys out there (series 2 XKE comes to mind) but I think the rest of them will stay pricey - this time.

Looks like the US real estate bubble is slowly losing air, may pop.

So as long as that happens car prices should hold

My buddy justs picked up a Miura S with 16K orginal miles and the orginal tires on it still. Orginally a European delivery car that still had the Paris France temporary plate on the front.

I think the prices will probably correct a little, but not down to the lows we saw in the early/mid 1990's.

    interesting analagy,

if you recall when the stock market crashed in 1987, the exotic car market really took off. and everyone's darling was ferrari. i'm not a market expert, but history has a tendency to repeat itself...

Only the vintage ones that really hold the prices similar range to the late 1980s, Dinos used to be way higher than $100K weren't they?
