I would love to. Hope I live long enough to see the stars from above the atmosphere.

I will totally do it, once it become a little more refined and the bugs are worked out. I mean, how many people can say, "That reminds me of when I was in outer space, looking down... "

    Congrats, William - that's awsome!!!

Heard rumor that seat reservations are going for approx. $120k -- is that about right? At any rate, it's a whole lot cheaper than buying a ticket on the Soviet craft!

But the Soviet craft gets you into space for real, not just on a technicality :)

Wish i could afford it right now.

Hopefully during my lifetime space will become a bigger priority to society and the government.

I'd rather Branson and William Hubbell fund this privately, and not my tax dollars! :)

Next we'd hear about Affirmative Action programs to send ppl to space!

I think the private sector can do a better job of it than the government, I mean, thats a given in just about everything else.

It will happen and you, Nick, will have a better chance of going than I. Do NOT pass it up!.

Just make sure you are up there for at least one orbit and you have the opportunity to join the 110 mile high club:p

Sure why not? Several years growing up I wanted to be a fighter pilot, then move on to be an astronaut.

In 25 years time, it will be much cheaper, as well as safer (much how flying in jet airliners became rapidly cheaper and safer in the first 25 years of service, from the 1950's to the 1970's).

No matter the price-tag, and no matter how well or how poorly I do in life, I will find a way to cough up the cash to go into space at least once.

Maybe I can go in my next lifetime, when tickets are cheaper.

No offense intended to anyone, but I think you would have to be truly nuts to want to pay big bucks for a ride in one of these unproven machines. But, that's how progress happens and if we make it through the next 100 years space flight in our local solar system will no doubt be commonplace for fun and profit.

I can't ever see interstellar Star Trek type travel happening. Just to crank one of those things up would take all the energy resources available on earth, and besides, it's impossible.

I wonder how dangerous it really is compared to racing cars, or just driving a motorcycle on the roads or swimming w sharks

I think its probably safer than riding a motorcycle on public roads

I'll take the motorcycle on a freeway for the duration of the space flight.

No doubt, it will all happen now that the private sector is getting aggressively involved. In 100 years solar system space travel could be nearly as routine as air travel now but there will be some significant accidents and lives lost along the way.

Well there are significant differences between 1904 & 2004 for instance we now have supercomputers that can test just about anything before a physical model is even built.

My friend Nick Sikorsky, Igor Sikorsky's son told me about how back at the begining of the 20th C "the inventors who survived their inventions would meet in Paris to discuss them" :) Men had to teach themselves how to build & fly their own inventions

Today we have over 100 years of flight experience + we have some limited amount of orbital and true space experience

Taking this into account I think space travel in the 21st C will be A lot safer than air travel in the early 20th C because of our long history of flight experience, computer technology, meteorology, engine tech, medical tech, and advances in space technology.

Also we've learned a lot from aircraft over the last C and what Not to do as well as the dangers of
