evo's John Barker wasn't all that thrilled with the BRZ: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNUL9eQO5Q0&feature=plcp[/ame] (See from 4:00 on for his criticisms. It's a shame the Megane isn't sold in the US by, say, Nissan.)
I saw a Scion FRS on the road this morning in silver (had dealer plates). It is actually a pretty good looking car. Actually, when I first saw it ahead of me, I thought it was a Hyundai Genesis coupe.
Saw my first FRS yesterday. A little smaller than I imagined but it looks like a really fun car. I'll be test driving one soon.
Awesome Kyle - congratulations! I'm sure we're all eagerly awaiting your verdict. All the best, Andrew.
My friend with a tuner shop bought one of the 1st ones. He took delivery and immediately installed a KW coilover kit. He sent Carrillo some new pistons and they are making rods for him. He's got big plans The chassis is phenomenal. Needs power. For Seattlites, I had the thing flat out in 4th on the I-90 eastbound expressway entrance onto 405. Very impressive it was. This car is a homerun. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
http://www.nola.com/business/index.ssf/2012/06/motor_sports_park_in_avondale.html I heard they had 32 BRZs at the event; ugh, I should have stopped by for a peek. Several vids found on youtube; here are a couple random ones... Put about 50 miles on the car during lunch. I can tell it really wants the last 3400 rpms to have some fun but I'm going to try my best to stick to the recommended break in procedure. I'll post up some pics and more impressions later.
I had a chance to look at both the subaru and scion versions over the weekend. The subaru version looked better, but both looked nice. However, neither is practical enough to be a DD for me (I have kids) and the fun car slot is already filled with a much more fun vehicle.
Pricing was recently revealed in Aus and I'm strongly fighting the urge to not put a deposit asap! Just need to decide on a colour, was originally planning on buying an M3 but they are getting too old and don't want to get into that sort of commitment. I'm thinking pearl white or silver, manual GTS.
The 2014 Lexus IS is based on this new FT-86 chassis..... I have a 2010 IS 250 AWD now.....and just may be in the market for another when this comes out. I love my IS so much!!
Very tempted to sell my 240sx for this car. Just had a test drive in the brz, testing the frs tomorrow, but it feels like my 240 only just a little better in every way which adds up to an immensely enjoyable experience. And it is pretty slow, so I can wring it all the way to the redline for a couple gears with no worries about rear ending the ginormous suv or pickup thats inadvertently in front of me, or exceeding the speed limit too much. Me like this car. Me like it very much.
Sounds good to me! I haven't driven or seen one in person yet, but am still excited about this car. All the best, Andrew.
I haven't driven it, but I've heard from so many places that the car is under powered, I can't wait to see the STi verson of it. I've seen a bunch so far, and the looks are very plain.
