Just like to know your comments about!!! The story is a 993TT guy came up to me and ask this question. I am quite familiar with Pcars after more than decade with some 911s, 928, Boxster, and Cayenne but not 993TT. After I moved to pony world, I have never looked back to them again until couple days ago.

Already know from articles that both are in the same league in term of the performance figure, value,....and so on. With no doubt, F355 is the greatest weekend car but 993TT can live well with any traffic conditions and road surfaces. Does it mean TT is more practical supercar here?

Please kindly show your opinion in this case!!

    Cheers,
    Kenny

Well...now that you mention it... Thats is exactly what I am getting into. My 348ts now has a firm deposit on it and I expect the sale to be completed by the end of this week. The car that I am getting into is a 1996 993tt. I drove one for the first time a few weeks ago and I was hooked. Mash the pedal and all 400 horses instantly jump to attention and propel you down the road with a brutal ferrocity. No turbo lag like the older gen. 930's.
They are all wheel drive, power, and durability in a civilized, livable package.

That being said, it is still not a Ferrari and I will surely miss mine but the wife says one or the other and I think the 993tt will be a welcome addition to the stable.

Hey chaa, I had a 993TT and it felt a bit faster than my 355. You say your spider is up on power and comparable to the 993TT. I would love my 355 to have more power!
All I have so far on upgrades on my 355 are the hyperflow cats. What upgrades would you recommend? Or should I say what have you done to yours?

Here is the link of the thread that i put up of my dyno results on here. My car is knoking out 328@ the wheels compared to the standard 310-315. I have the De-cated capristo and k&Ns. But most importantly a hammon chip that re-maped the fueling and power curve, so its not realy about any extra power made as opposed to the way its deliverd. It now has 44k miles on the clock by the way. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=106847&highlight=dyno+results

I have both cars , A 97 355 and a 98 TT , I love them both but mt TT will beat the pants off my 355 any day . I have all the usual mods done to my 355 , but when My tt was stock the 355 had no chance , The tt has been modifyied to about 750 hp now and its as stable and fun to drive as ever > But I sill love driving mt 355 cant beat the sound and peopel seem to notice it more than the porsche .

The 355 has more power and response than you think. The problem is power is so hight in the rpm range that you are seldom in the power band in normal driving and have to either wait til the revs go up or change gears, In the Porsche there is power throughout the normal power band. Keep the 355 above 6000rpm and drive it that way on a twisty road and you won't find a better car.

That is great! Hey I plan on driving mine too. I have 32k miles on the clock and bought it with 30k three months ago! I love it at the upper RPM's! Did you replace your wires to the kingsborne? Where does one get the Hammon mapping?

For the sake of the thread: I personally loved my 993TT, but I had porsches for the past 18 years. So me and my new F355 are still in bliss. I will end up optimising the F355 performance and enjoy the car. You can't beat the uniqueness of a Ferrari!

PS I can't get the video on post #6

I think the silver 993TT is awesome looking in the first post, and is one of my all time favorite cars. If I were a doctor I probably would be driving one to work every day. But alas, I am an architect, and so I drive the 348.

I was considering a 993TT 3 years ago before I bought my 355. While the 993 are great looking cars with the wide hips and whale tail they are pretty boring to drive like most porsches..sorry.(Carrera GT obvious exception)..fast and great reliable daily driver sports cars but not in the same league as a 355 or most Ferraris for that matter.

So true...That is why I went from my 993TT to the F355! :~) To absolve myself from the anonimity of the "is this a boxster?" remarks. I concede most of those comments came from girls. But when people confuse a Turbo with a Carrera...well that starts to get old............

I drove one, if I had the cash that's what I'd be buying....
I've owned 4 porsches, seems they were always better built
and more reliable than the ferrari. may be It was just luck.
