Jurassick, First I want to thank you for posting the pictures. Although I am not a fan of Felber, I like being able to see the cars. To me, he had very strange style taste, that 1970 Pontiac Trans Am is absolutely horrible! However, at least his work was consistent - it's all ugly. Someone once told me that good design evokes strong emotion either strongly for or strongly against. His designs must be good, for me, they evoke a very strong emotion against! Stu, The Marzotto car is ugly too! Regards, Art S.
Personally, I think the Marzotto car is so ugly that it is cool; especially with all those markings on it, like so many of the Carrera Panamericana cars...
Personally I like the Michelotti designed Ferraris but overall the Felber creations look "different" to put it mildly! Thanks for posting though, always interesting to see different shapes. Makes one appreciate the PF designs even more. Best, Peter
Could be interesting to know if the brown with white roof 365 GTC/4 (Genève 77) is still in existence, and where?
I also wasn't aware that more than one of these were built, and ONE would have been more than enough. Where did the GTC bodies go???
very interesting. pity a gtc had to sacrifice its' life, but i think it would be very cool to have in a bizarre kind of way.
I recall seeing the Beach car at the Geneva show back then, thought it was very cool but I was about 12 so what did I know Funnily enough Marcel Massini did a story on Felber, for the Market Letter some years ago. I find the station wagon C4 to be the most interesting/least annoying.
As a long-term GTC owner, I have always been curious about all aspects of GTC's, from the "de Rethy" series of designs, all the way to these Felber designs. I always knew the Felber designs were aesthetically-challenged; these pix confirm that most emphatically. One should always remember that there were buyers for those things too; Willy was not the only one with no taste.....(being a station wagon fan tho, I'm almost liking the GTC estate, almost........). It is a shock though to think that many GTC's gave their futures for these 'creations'. Maybe really only engines/transaxles were sacrificed......? At any rate, they exist as monuments to a time of really bad taste; perhaps encouraging the next 'designer' to rethink his plans...... Tritone (going to the garage now to gaze upon a real GTC.....)
I find it absolutely amazing that minor body mods gets a Daytona moved to replicas and re-creations (hyphenated, puh-leeze!) but this cuckoo-clock of Ferraris is allow to remain here! Not my forum, so just wondering... Best wishes, Kare
If somebody is interested in the Felber beach car based on 365 GTC/4 #16017 >>> it is for sale here in our German neighborhood.
