There's been several articles about JPM's future in F1 - this one I just read seems like it may close another door for him - looking more and more like his only hope for a driving career may be to return to work for his former boss Ganassi in one of his cars.

    Here's the latest:

Williams have dropped a firm hint that they will retain Mark Webber next season, even though the Australian's current contract runs out at the end of the year.

Webber has impressed with his determined drives for Williams in 2006, having endured mixed fortunes last year, although poor reliability has left him without a podium finish.

But with Williams having until the start of August to decide on Webber's future, thanks to an option on his contract that is due to expire prior to the Hungarian Grand Prix, the team have indicated that they are likely to keep him on board.

Technical director Sam Michael said: "The driver decision will be Frank's, but the most likely thing is to continue with the two drivers we have for next year.

"All the options are in Williams' favour as things go. Frank will make his choice when the time is right. I can't see anything else he'd do."

Webber has also been linked with a switch to Renault next season, if the French car manufacturer fails in its quest to sign Kimi Raikkonen as teammate to Giancarlo Fisichella.

Should the Australian move teams, then one possibility is for Williams to take Juan Pablo Montoya, who is believed to have offered his services cheaply in a bid to remain in F1.

What transpires over the next several months in F1 should prove to be quite interesting!

Interesting indeed! I have kind of a love-hate feeling towards JPM. I really wanted him to succeed when he first arrived in Formula 1, and there's no need to re-tell the story here. I wouldn't even mind it so much if he played the full-out villain role, but he's turned into a bit of a mope. If he ends up back in CART, perhaps that would provide a marquis name that would help in the possible merger of IRL/CART, which wouldn't be all bad. But I would like to see him stick it out in F1 a little longer and see if he can turn it around.

I couldn't stand JPM initially, but he's grown on me over the past few years. I hate to say it, but I somewhat enjoy watching his antics on and off the track. He seems to have lost a bit of the edge though recently, and doesn't get much respect anymore as a result (even when he does put in a good run, like Monaco).

Webber and Nico is a hell of a good line-up IMO. Webber underachieves like no other; just needs to pull it together. Rosberg is just about the fastest out of the box that we've seen in the past 5 years.
