Anyone interested in commiting to willow springs on jan 20. Open track racing has an event looks like 175 bucks and three groups beg, int, and advanced. Figured last time the stooges drove longer this time i could do the long haul. Maybe we could even get yelcab to come down and show us how its done. What do you all think?

There are zillions of trackdays. All you need to do is ask...

    AROSC-HPD Home Page
This is the alfa romeo club. Great guys with HPDE to W2W racing groups and a real good 3 level school for HPDE, time trial and racing

    Speed Ventures - Track Events
This is a good club and even has an occassional exotic car group for the garage queens like my 550M

Northern California Racing Club - Schedule of Events
Great club and lots of Laguna Seca dates the best track in California with historic corkscrew and great food and hotels

I can go on but that will get you started. Pick a weekend and I have a very good chance of lining up a trackday.

So for those of you who have been to some of these. When speed ventures says they have an sv cup and super miata races on satuday, how much time does a person get with their cars if not in these races. Noone seems to give a schedule.

I was mostly looking at chuckwalla and willow springs just because of driving distance. If we want to increase the distances it opens up a lot more with thunderhill, sonoma, laguna, and button willow.

I have not run with SV since they started super miata. If they have run as in the past my guess is 4-5 run groups SPM , red, green, blk, yellow with alternating 20-25mins on off. It is also possible SPM runs with red for practice and there is a spm race at the end of the day for 30mins so then 4 groups. If running corvette challenge that is time trial and you can run in any group but you are ranked by time of the day. So if you are a fast novice in yellow you might smoke a lame old experienced guy in red. Red/green are open passing, blk is intermediate, yellow is beginner low inter.

AROSC runs groups as HPDE streetcars, Timetrial moderately prepared like harnesses, and race group. They will break up timetrial and hpde into more groups as needed.
Alfa school is 3 prong with high performance driving, time trial, and race schools all going at the same time but grouped off. So when race group is in the class room, time trial might be on the track , while HPDE will be on the skidpad etc etc as groups rotate out of each venue. it is rapid fire learning no time to fix cars or BS. You get a lot for your money. Even if you do not intend to race the race school is really fun in a properly prepared car.

High Performance school today and Open test day tomorrow at Buttonwillow... I want to go out there to try on some Pilotis.

Last weekend was a dark day with the loss of a M3 driver and paramedics luckily able to bring back passenger. Be careful out there.
