I've used it once. Only took me a minute to install and 30 seconds to remove.

It is really easy to install and it makes a HUGE difference in the wind inside
the cabin and buffeting. I can have a conversation at 100mph with it installed.
I can just about use the bluetooth at 80! I just leave it in all the time (unless I need to use the rear seat for my daughters). It fits fine with the top up.

I frequently have 1 or both kids in the back, and putting the windows up sufficiently reduces wind buffeting and noise for me, so I have yet to use the deflector. During summer days, I prefer to have all the windows down, but sometimes put them up when on the freeway to deflect road noise from adjacent cars.

Never. Like Balsimina, I usually have the kids in the back hence no deflector. I am keeping it nicely packed away though for the next owner. (if I ever actually let go of the car!)

With the deflector in place, be especially careful not to back the seat backs into it or it
will scar the seats and also press into the rear seat area sides. It is for that reason that
I do not use it and find with all windows up very little difference with wind buffeting.

Thanks guys. Comforting to know there are others like me around... :D
And also to know that putting up all the windows is good enough.

Heh - I forgot the car even came with one. I stuck it in a closet almost 2 years ago - never to be seen since!

Nice piece of kit. Wonder how much it will fetch on e-bay?

I too doubt if it makes any difference in reducing wind.

Please remember that if you have it installed you cannot move the seat all the way back as you or your passenger will crush this $2,000 accessory.

Also remember that if you have it installed and you decided to let someone sit in your rear seat, you will need to remove and then disassemble and fold it up in order to get it into your trunk. Doing this might take 5 minutes or 20 depending on how good you are at puzzles.

It's usefulness is pretty short lived. New owners will play with it for the first month of ownership then it goes into a closet to be forgotten.

Never ... and never drive with top down and windows up (I think they only do that in California?) :D 140 mph with the top down will remain brutally noisy whatever I do I think.

I have it installed almost all the time. Being in So. California, i do get the chance to drive with the top off much of the time. It does, in my opinion, reduce the wind somewhat. After experimenting I usually also have the windows rolled up 1/4 to 1/3 the way up....with the windscreen ON, and it seems to be a perfect balance.......for me!

yeah... the wind gushes in when you have the windows down, which makes for a more elemental experience. This is also my favorite configuration. :D

Salesman at the dealership says it does not work.

    Why bother?

Same here, it does help somewhat and I just leave it in all the time, whether top up or down.

New to me Cali 30…put the deflector in today. 45 seconds looking at the directions in the storage bag, and maybe 90 seconds installing. Will be half that time for the next install. Very simple.

as for wind blockage, more quiet, etc…felt like 15% calmer in cabin. Wouldn’t reco buying one if not already owned.

To get the maximum effect of the deflector you need to have all 4 windows up and be traveling more than 40 mph.

Besides the lower noise levels with the deflector, wind turbulence is much lower, big benefit for passengers with long hair. The deflector also provides a sun shade/privacy screen for the rears seats and a privacy screen for passengers.

Downsides, cost and the rearview mirror looks through the deflector fabric. You can't tell a ski rack from a light bar in the mirror at any distance (OEM).
I personally think the car looks a little better with out the deflector.

Wind deflector is missing from Portofino I just got (sales guy insisted it was never included and he had never seen one and why am I asking so many questions), so if anyone is willing to part with theirs I'm all ears.

Check eBay. They normally have a bunch of them. That’s where I found one, at a much better price than the dealer.

As the rear seats are useless for a person I drive with the deflector always up. Fits fine with the roof up too.
