I recently put window accelerators on my 95 348 spider and I now have intermittent stopping when I put the window down. It sounds as though the same trigger that moves the window down an inch or two when dropping the top is engaging. Any ideas why? Any idea how to stop it? I have no problems when I roll the window up.

Hmmm...I installed accelerators in my 97 F355 Spider and I have the exact same problem on the passenger window.

why would there be no problem with the driver door and not the passenger door. Did you leave the accelerator in?

Both accelerators are installed. Before the installation, the driver's window was only a little slow, but the passenger window took over a minute to roll up. Now the passenger window still rolls up slower, but in about 20-30 seconds. It rolls down intermittently about 2 inches at a time. I have to release the switch and engage it again to get the window to continue to roll down. The driver's window works fine.

Tom, your window takes 20-30 seconds to roll up??? Man that must be frustrating. Mine would take 5 seconds tops. Crazy.

Thats the exact same issue I'm experiencing with the passenger side window, it will drop a couple inches and stop, then I hit the button again and it will go another couple of inches. I'll give the drivers side door a shot this weekend and see if I get the same results.

Hey dude, I seem to remember it wasn't too long ago that you couldn't get it up at all! ;) :p Yes, I know u fixed the problem...

Those accelerators, from what I read, boost voltage to the motors, however, if you are not getting a good connection it's not going to help. Generally the issue with slow windows is low voltage coming from weak grounding or fraying wires in your harness that passes through the door. Years of weather and opening and closing take their toll. The accelerator is supposed to boost weaker voltage to make the motors work faster. However they aren't going to overcome no connection, as in maybe you have an intermittant grounding or continuity problem. I do hate automitove electronics!

Anybody solve this problem? I installed them on my 355 and same problem as other folks. Windows stop, you have to release the switch then push it down again. Over and over and over...

    Not impressed.

Are you also only seeing the problem on the passenger side?

Hmm. My driver's side works great. I haven't had the time to dig into the passenger window and look for the cause though, so I've just been living with it for now. I think it could be a bad connection as someone mentioned previously, or it could be a mechanical issue with alignment of the tracks. One of these days, I'll get some time to look at it.

I too have this problem, before this it was not working at all we had to rewire and create a better contact which is essentially what your window booster did. I was told that the window of the car was probably operated many times without the ignition on which screwed up the relay from not having enough volts to operate it. It is not that bad to operate the windows this way, it is 10000 times better than having no window operation at all.
