458 Window bump stop

I found this rubber bumper inside my 2011 458 driver's side door panel; I think it is the bump stop for the window but I am not sure. I assumed I could live without it so I put it all back together and then got to thinking: what if this is the primary window stop? Could doing without it overstress the power-window cable?

I'd rather not pull the door panel off again (not really difficult, especially with all the great info on F-Chat, but scary nonetheless pulling the insert off, knowing how much that carbon fiber piece costs if I break it). Image Unavailable, Please Login
