Every time I lower my driver side window, about 3/4 way down, it sounds like there is something hitting the window. Happens when I raise the window too.

Has anyone had this happen to them too?

I've had this in another car, a long time ago, and in that case it was something to do with the window raising/lowering mechanism. I'd have it looked at but I wouldn't freak out too much.

In my 993 - it was a worn window regulator gear. At high friction spot it would jump which makes mechanical pop sound.

Agree with Caerulius - not a huge deal. It happened on mine and the window mechanism had dropped inside the door due to loose bolts, causing the noise. 9 of times of 10 it's a reassembly and test - better to do that at an independent rather than a dealer. 1 of 10 its a faulty/damaged winder mechanism. I heard a common cause of mechanism failure is people pressing against the glass from the outside (i.e. spectators checking the interior out) which can put pressure on the mechanism. My mechanic did say if there is friction don't lower the window - the stress could break it then there's glass fragments inside the door card etc FWIW
