This is not a thread about should I or shouldn't I, I already decided to. And please save the comments about the law and the safety of it, i know its against the law and probably not as safe as sticking my head out the window to look both ways but i have dark tint on 2 MBZ, even on my windshield and i like it and have never been pulled over for it or been in a crash as a result of it.

    With that said,

For the Mondial, no windshield tint here and all I want is a very light/med tint and would like to see pictures of those who have had it done and what was the % used.

    thanks in advance

    Hey Champ.

Its not illegal in Illinois my man. Tint is considered a enviromental advantage as it keeps the cabin temps cooler, therefore allowing the Illinois motorist the ability to not use as much energy by running the A/C equipment.

So its legal. How do you like that?

So... With the Mondial's green house making it rather warm within my steed I had 30% applied to my side glass. The result right out of the tint shop:

Edit: One Caveat! With a Mondial t you got to watch out. The tint guy will need to turn your ignition on & off several times to work the windows. If the car is not moved it will throw a suspension fault. If you can unplug the suspension system (relay or fuse?) then do so. Once done you can re-energize.

    LOL.

Yes. 30%... And I believe that means "stops 30% of light" as its pretty tame. But I like it. Some of the stuff is graded such that 30% means "only lets 30% of light through" - and that's pretty darn dark.

My 30% lets 70% of light through. And Black (nero) it is.

I read your thread and then spent an hour researching Huper Optik tint. It all sounds great and found a local applyer so it looks like i'm going that route too.

    wish me luck

i'll post before and after pictures

Your Mondial looks great with tint. Black cars with dark tint look sweet, but I'm a fan of tint on any car really.

Suits me perfectly since I prefer that the attention goes to the car instead of me :)

Yes you can Michael and thanks to you both.

My thoughts as well on the black cars plus it's become a necessity here in the Sunshine State along with an a/c system that works ;)
